I remember when there was actually open debate in Red Army journals about whether it's better to stay with the larger-round AK-47 or go to the smaller-round AK-74.

Love the AK internals. Love the AR ergonomics.
I own both.
Sig makes a rifle with the best of both (also own it). A bit heavy but otherwise like it very much.
