First, some background. I first noticed Cenk Uygur on election night, as I enjoyed watching the "lamentations of their women" videos on YouTube when they realized Trump had won. He had an epic meltdown which I have watched about five times already:

It's important to keep in mind that he is as progressive as they come, but he also has more of an open mind than other progressives. In fact, he came pretty close to understanding the real mood of the public.

I only watched a few minutes of that election day video, but one thing leapt out at me.
The libs blame all opposition on identity politics. (It’s classic projection, but I won’t discuss that right now.) Those in the video claimed that opponents of Hillary don’t like people of specific ethnic groups; they claimed that the only reason people won’t vote for Hillary is because she has female parts.
If that simplistic and incorrect worldview informs why they think Hillary lost the election, then I encourage them to double down on it. Because if they ever realize that issues brought Hillary down, they may start trying to spin themselves as being issues oriented. And that takes more effort to counter than identity politics. They’ve called conservatives “racist” so often that we’re beginning to ignore it like a gnat.
