A teenager from Washington state has become the seventh person to indicate that she will break ranks with party affiliation and become a “faithless elector” in an attempt to prevent Donald Trump being formally enshrined as president-elect when the electoral college meets on 19 December.
Levi Guerra, 19, from Vancouver, Washington, is set to announce that she is joining the ranks of the so-called “Hamilton electors” at a press conference at the state capitol in Olympia on Wednesday.
The renegade group believes it is the responsibility of the 538 electors who make up the electoral college to show moral courage in preventing demagogues and other threats to the nation from gaining the keys to the White House, as the founding fathers intended....

I heard that any electors who throw their votes could be prosecuted under the 1964 Voter Rights Act.
In my experience, failing to vote for your preferred candidate rarely advances their cause. But who knows, maybe she has a secret plan.
Given that Washington state went for Hillary and all of the Washington state electoral votes will go for Hillary, this teen is going to protest Trump....by voting for Hillary??

Trump didn’t win Washington, so her play for 15 minutes of fame falls rather flat. She can vote for whomever she wants, not vote at all, or stand on her head and whistle Dixie, a rather meaningless exercise.
WASHINGTON is a state that produces progressive school curriculum.
A faithless elector simply means an elector who casts a vote against the candidate he or she is pledged to.

Wonder is she’s even a US citizen, if she’s is a “dreamer” or what.
Obviously not based on her knowledge of how elections run. She was “elected” to vote for Clinton. Her vote should still be for Clinton. But - she can be “faithless”. I’m not sure what the penalty will be. Most of the electors are big-wigs in the party, and will vote how they are supposed to if they want to keep their place of prominence in the party.
Hamilton Electors my ass. The liberals due tend to form the words for the discussion.
