Anybody know how much money these cities could potentially lose?
Let the illegal criminals stay within those cities causing mayhem and financial crisis for the residents until they get rid of their politicians. NO FEDERAL MONEY to those cities for any reason. The rest of America can prosper and be safe under President Trump.
Since Chicago’s elected leaders are willfully enabling criminal activity I expect the Trump administration will instruct the FBI to investigate & the DOJ to prosecute them as is appropriate.

I did read recently that San Francisco alone would lose ~$1.2 billion. The city budget is ~$9 billion, so the hit is a pretty good bite.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs (mostly all conservative) but from my teen-hood on I took the 10-cent El ride to the city to partake of the amazing culture, i.e., the museums, the outdoor symphonic concerts, the ethnic lake-front fairs, the breathtaking Air Shows, the restaurants, the opera, the ballet, the hole-in-the-wall jazz bars, Marshall Field's, the July 4th fireworks over the lake, the restaurants, shopping the Magnificent Mile, the delights of Old Town, da Cubs, da Sox, da Bears...and more.
Chicago is a beautiful city fronted by beautiful Lake Michigan. It's full of warm-hearted, friendly mid-westerners.
Yet, a hundred years of corrupt, crony-ism Democrat machine rule has and is still turning Chicago into inevitable economic stagnation, bankruptcy, rampant welfare-ism and unchecked crime and killings....not to mention what types it's attracting from being a sanctuary city.
All this has resulted in decreased tourism from out-of-state plus an ever-increasing number of paying customers/visitors from the countless 'burbs who will not eat, shop, tour, or even go there for ANYTHING anymore out of apprehension, outright fear and just plain disgust.
If, again today, I were a suburban teen-ager who could ride the El for 10 cents into the city of Chicago to roam its streets of cultural offerings I would not do so.

Cut the funding to each and every “sanctuary” that does not comply with federal law. Then go in and begin the deportations. Period. End of story.
You a not “defying” Trump! You are defying federal law!
Maybe, maybe not. And you can do it for everything but third rail of politics anyway. Plus, the entire state isn’t a sanctuary city.
