No, Liberals… Hillary Did NOT Win The Popular Vote, Stop With The Petitions (absentees not counted)

Ok, so let’s set the record straight on this whole petition thing floating around that has now received over 3 million signatures called “Electoral College: Make Hillary Clinton President on December 19”.

The argument is that Hillary won the popular vote, so we should abolish the electoral college altogether and the state electors should abandon the electoral votes for Trump, and instead vote Hillary into office. There’s just one problem, liberals…Hillary DID NOT win the popular vote. Here’s why.

First of all, she’s probably not going to win the actual number of votes cast. She may win the number of votes counted, but not the votes cast.

States don’t count their absentee ballots unless the number of outstanding absentee ballots is larger than the state margin of difference. If there is a margin of 1,000 votes counted and there are 1,300 absentee ballots outstanding, then the state tabulates those. If the number of outstanding absentee ballots wouldn’t influence the election results, then the absentee ballots aren’t counted.

Who votes by absentee ballot? Students overseas, the military, businesspeople on trips, etc. The historical breakout for absentee ballots is about 67-33% Republican. In 2000, when Al Gore “won” the popular vote nationally by 500,000 votes and the liberal media screamed bloody murder, there were 2 million absentee ballots in California alone. A 67-33 breakout of those yields a 1.33 to 0.66 million Republican vote advantage, so Bush would have gotten a 667,000-vote margin from California’s uncounted absentee ballots alone! So much for Gore’s 500,000 popular vote “victory.” (That was the headline on the N.Y. Times, and it was the lead story on NBC Nightly News, right? No? You’re kidding.)

So, the next time someone says “Hillary won the popular vote” you can give them this little election lesson, as most people have no idea that hundreds of thousands of ballots are never even counted.

Statistically, there is no way Hillary Clinton won the popular vote this year because 2/3rds of the uncounted absentee ballots would have gone against her.

The current margin of her popular vote claim is less that the canvassing boards are turning up in illegal and dead votes. That’s where her margin lies.

That is entirely incorrect, they will all be counted prior to final certification. Usually the absentees received by the day of the election are counted first.

Hillary didn’t win the popular votes because she received about 1.2 million illegal votes...mostly in California...plus a relative handful of fraudulent votes in Philly, Miami, Detroit, Chicago and other urban precincts. She also had Republican ballots suppressed in places like Broward.

But it’s not because absentees aren’t counted.

Golden State won the NBA championship because they had the most passes. The logic is ridiculous. Everyone knows the rules and if the rules were popular vote then Trump would have played the game differently. Hillary lost in landslide!

Once a false meme is established, the ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do Pundit Class’ can’t fix the mess they make. Note Romney’s 61 million votes to McCain’s 60 million, and remind ourselves what the ‘smart’ people said:

Rush Limbaugh: “If these three million had voted, Romney’s popular vote total would have beaten Obama’s...”

The American Spectator: “Romney got over 2 million fewer votes than McCain. And in the final count, he will almost certainly have received considerably fewer votes than McCain.”

Andrew C. McCarthy: “...Romney managed to pull nearly 2 million fewer votes than John McCain...”

Jim Hoft (Gateway Pundit): “...Mitt won only 57 million votes. In 2008 John McCain had nearly 60 million votes...”

And keep in mind some of these smart guys kept up their false meme for several years.

Absentee ballots are only counted when there are enough of them to affect the result.

So you mean I am not recorded as having voted this cycle? That is a violation of my Constitutional right. If I have to prove I voted in 2016 for anything I would not be able to do so because the damn Democratic government here refused to count my ballot. What in the hell is the use of absentee balloting then. All the military overseas has been denied their right. Bad, Bad, Bad.

And if the absentee ballots are not counted then where in the hell do you get the 67% number being Republican? Sounds like the elections are rigged to me.

We don't need to rely on absentee ballots. Once the MI tallies came in, Trump won 306 Electoral College votes AND Took the lead in the popular vote.

He has a mandate :D

No. There is no way 2/3 of CA absentees are R ballots. I don’t care what historical averages are. This is as bad on our side as the loony polls were on theirs.

We won the ele tion. Don’t need a bunch of phony math to justify it.

In Florida, the absentee ballots are the FIRST ballots counted, generally on the day before the general election. They are opened, counted, and certified, with poll watchers on hand, in secured rooms.

This method or similar methods are common and typical in most states. Then the early votes, where allowed, are certified, often again before Election Day. That gets all decks cleared for the Election Day voting, and the review and certification of the few absentee ballots that trickle in on Election Day.

Yes, all votes are counted.

What usually doesn’t get counted are the ‘provisional’ ballots. Most of these do not get counted as they caster cannot be certified as a registered voter.

I rather doubt that is true. The state margin may be large, but down-ballot races may be tight. All legitimate ballots are counted.

What a perfect, practiced, professional FUD statement. Thank you for exemplifying the technique.

You're also absolutely wrong, as you well know.

They all count FOR YOUR STATE. States generally figure that if the number of absentee ballots does not exceed the majority counted, then the electoral vote is already set and what’s the point in counting what will not change the outcome? Of course if you don’t like that, you can petition your state with enough signatures to vote to change that.

When all is said and done months from now, the number of illegal aliens who voted will be tallied - many think the number is in the millions - that amount will have to be removed from the HRC count.

Does anybody know how to search the names on the petition list? I visited the change.org site, but it was not immediately apparent how to access the names.

They should count ALL ballots regardless.
Every vote should be counted

Doesn’t matter who won the popular vote. The Electoral College system - superior to the “popular vote” because it implements our decentralized, republican form of government so that NY & California cannot decide every election - is set in place by the Constitution (Art II, Sec 1, Cl 2-4) and CANNOT be LEGALLY changed without a Constitutional Amendment.

Don’t let the Leftist screams and shouts drown out the simple fact that this is a constitutional issue. Their screams and shouts are not a Constitutional Amendment so they amount to nothing.

If fraud is found in the tally of a particular state, that is another story especially if it changes the majority vote in the state because that will affect the electoral vote.

Jim 0216 ... I think you’ve misunderstood this thread. We all understand the role of the electoral college. No one believes that the popular vote has any impact on the results of the election.

At the very least we can say:

“We don’t know who got more votes. It just didn’t matter. Donald Trump won the Electoral college handily.”

Trump won the majority of Electoral Votes. That is all that matters. We must keep the E C at all cost.. If people keep saying Clinton won the popular vote, it just encourages the left to look for ways to eliminate it.

God bless

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

As for you Obama WE WON..

just me ... C’mon. In the highly unlikely event that opinions expressed on threads of FR can have any impact at all on Constitutional law, the Electoral College is safe. No one on FR wants to amend the Constitution in any way to changed the EC.
