I ‘d also move to eliminate Dual Citizenship. Until some time in the 60s or 70s, anyone who wanted to become a U.S. citizen had to renounce his or her native land’s citizenship. They had to buy into the US 100%

Now we have an untold number of people with split allegiances. We might consider some program of ‘legacy citizenship’ with the foreign country, but if a person has that s/he cannot vote there. As it is, if you’re dual US/Israel or Ireland or France or Italy whatever, you can vote in both countries tho you may never live in ir.

Good point! Its actually that dual citizenship that I think made Obama ineligible. He might have been born in Hawaii, but I think 1. he was born to a minor and 2. when his mother married Lelo Soetero, and adopted Barry, Obama became and Indonesian citizen and at that time Indonesia didn’t allow for dual citizenships.

I think when he was shipped back to his grandmother he wasn’t a US citizen and I doubt that he ever filed for it. jmo

People kept looking at the birth certificate, but I think it was his citizenship when he returned that was in question. I think they actually liked the birth certificate investigation because it kept people busy and not looking at the loss of citizenship.
