My senior parents asked me about guns. They were always afraid of them. So my Dad got a handgun, a sig. And I took Mom and Dad to the range for the first time.
My Mom was sitting waiting scared while we signed waivers. She was scared of shooting.
So we went in, Mom shot the Sig.
Out in the parking lot I asked her, so Mom how did you like it. She said boy that was fun.
And she was the best shot of all of us.
I think women are better shooters.
My wife observed a similar story. When she was taking the range portion of her CC class, a young woman was there with her boyfriend and was so scared of the gun she was crying. Thankfully he brought a .22 for her to shoot and by the end of the class she was smiling and talking about how much fun she had.

So do I. My younger sister is deadly with anything she picks up. Never practices. One of our family heirlooms is a beautiful break action .410 with a very tight choke. It will kill like a 12 gage, but has a much smaller pattern. A real experts gun. She took it pheasant hunting with her husband and his friends and humiliated all of them.
How to shot
“I think women are better shooters.”
That has been my experience.
I haven’t seen many women willing to put in the time to be great shooters, but picking up a gun for the first time, most women shoot well, better than men in the same circumstances.
Women do exactly what you tell them. They bring no preconceived notions that interfere.
Women don’t go into it assuming they will be instantly Dirty Harry. So they tend to take instruction better.
Nice work wining converts!
