I have similar feelings. I am getting up in years and think I would be more likely to act against a criminal than a few years ago.
I still will not do anything immoral or purposely illegal but no longer have anyone depending on me. I actually dreamed a few nights ago that I shot a robber three times in the stomach with a .22 pistol. I then began to wonder if I was completely justified.
Odd how dreams are as I would not willingly use a little .22 Unique Model L which is what I dreamed. I also doubt if I would aim for the stomach. It felt very real tho.
Were it real you would have been justified except about the .22 caliber part. Next time you dream, dream of getting something with a bigger hole in the tube.
