I’ve told many of my conservative friends that if GOP Inc had given us anything to hang our hats on over the last 30 years, the wouldn’t have a “Trump Problem.”

Franklin Roosevelt’s rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states’ rights by the national Democratic Party — an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement — as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. […] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism.

The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states’ rights. We often talk about “returning to the states their rightful powers”; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily. …

Only 25 years? No; much longer than that.

The GOP is not a political party, its a club. We’re not in it and never will be.

Yup.

They have only themselves to blame.

GOP failures and refusal to represent us explain the rise of the Trump candidacy and the Make America Great Again movement.

The GOP brought this revolution on themselves.

Donald Trump is the LOGICAL result of the GOP elites ignoring the people.

The main reason the GOP has betrayed their voters is that they are owned by the Cheap Labor Express.

There has been a 30 year policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws.
The Bush family is largely responsible for the 30 million illegal aliens we have in this country.

In every election since the last amnesty, we have had amnesty vs amnesty elections, effectively blocking the citizens from stopping the illegal alien inundation.
This was intentional.
This time they got Trumped.
They are really ticked off about that.
They do not want the citizens to reverse their plans to turn the USA into North Mexico.

In hindsight we would have all been much better off if that little twerp Dukakis had won in ‘88.

He would have SCROOOD the POOCH bigtime. People would have quickly learned that Reagan was right. We would have elected some Conservative in ‘92 and been spared the unpleasantness of the Bush Dynasty.

Romney sucked. McCain sucked. Bushes 41 and 43 sucked. It’s refreshing to have someone running who loves America more so much. None of the above did, or do.

The arrogant GOP elites think our anger will pass but they are wrong, as usual. We’re just getting started.

GOP is dead to me and most other conservatives.

I will never support them again. I’ll back a few select individual candidates, but it is past time for our version of the UKIP to form.

I remember taking a lot of heat about a decade ago for attempting to make this very point (except then it was over Ron Paul, not Trump). I and others like us were nearly drummed out of FR because of it.

I'm glad the consensus has come around to what some of us were already seeing back then.
