For Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), the decision to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump wasn’t an easy one.

Although for the former Republican presidential nominee’s supporters the decision seemed to be sudden and rash, Cruz told KTRK-TV Friday that the decision to support Trump didn’t come as a result of a political deal, but rather it came after several months of thought and prayer.

“There were no deals,” Cruz told the news station. “We had been engaged in conversations. You know it’s been a decision as I said I’ve been thinking about and praying about for weeks and months, discussing it with my family, and I made the decision today and announced it Friday.”

Following his non-endorsement of Trump during the Republican national convention in July, Cruz took a lot of heat from Republicans and supporters alike. At the time, Cruz instructed Republicans to “vote their conscience,” a phrase that drew a large number of “boos” during his speech.

During an interview with the Texas Tribune Friday, Cruz invoked the phrase again, this time in-favor of Trump.

I can forgive but also not forget. Let him go to the private sector, I don’t trust him.

The decision came only after the RNC said he would be ineligible to run as a R on in future Pres elections if he reneged on his promise.

Forgiven him for what? Is the moron still innocently acting like Trump attacked his wife, while neglecting to mention he ran the Melania ad the day before?

Screw Cruz, he showed his true colors in this election. No character at all. I hope he and Amanda have a nice fall and leave us alone.

“the decision to support Trump didn’t come as a result of a political deal, but rather it came after several months of thought and prayer.”

The choice was Trump or Hillary. If it was THAT damned hard of a decision then he’s no good. Period.

We can deal with punishment later, but for now, I’ll take the endorsement, because it increases our chance of Winning.

He is revealed as a globalist tool, who ran like a scalded dog back to his Bush masters as soon as he faltered.

Never forget that.

This praying and thinking and forgiving.. it’s really condescending and insulting. WHO CARES? I know there are a lot of Cruz supporters and in the beginning so was I. But thank God he isn’t the nominee. He’d be 50 points behind. No doubt about it. You just sense it is always and only about him all the time.

The sleeze-ball couldn’t keep a job in the private sector... except maybe as a sanitation engineer or men’s room greeter.

I’ll take it. If Trump elected. CRUZ COULD BE A GREAT ALLY. It was two big egos running for same office. It took some time to heal now lets move onward towards the goal!

I was taken in by ths charlatan when he first appeared.
I thought Texas had finally found a Senator that understood the Constitution.

If he had been the man of priciple he claimed he could have given invaluable service to this country exposing the Kenyanesian Usurpation using his own example to highlight why Obama in ineligible.

But Ted is all about Ted.
It’s all an act.

I don’t even think his endorsement helps at this point. He waited too long and it’s gone stale.

Maybe I’ve been watching too many “Criminal Minds” but look what always the weasel Cruz said:

“.....but rather it came after several MONTHS of thought and prayer.”

“......I’ve been thinking about and praying about for WEEKS and MONTHS.”

Now is it “weeks” or “months”? Please, don’t tell me that three months is about 12 weeks.

“Months” by definition is a minimum of 2 months.
“Weeks” by definition is a minimum of 2 weeks.

Since he first said weeks and months and subsequently said just weeks, I infer that to mean, the truth is “WEEKS”.

So Cruz has actually been thinking (maybe praying, praying just sounds better for holier than thou , Cruz) about endorsing Trump from between 2-7 weeks.

If it’s really “weeks” not “days”, then I believe it’s closer to 2.

No deal? Do politicians LIE?

OF COURSE THERE WAS A DEAL!

He is ineligible to run for President, period.
He was born in Canada. Foreign citizenship one.
His father was a foreign national. Foreign ciitizenship two.
He is only an American on his mother’s side IF they filed the proper paperwork, which we have never seen.

Born here of citizen parents.
Natural born citizen.

Cruz isn’t endorsing, he is angling for a seat at the table. This is a Bushie effort to mitigate and control Trump.
Look for a lot of this in upcoming months.

Cruz has forgiven Trump for a perceived, not real, slight.

This a-hole... I was prepared to let bygones be bygones after reading his statement at first. Now he goes and adds insult to injury with this “forgiven” thing. He’ll never let it go.
