Is Pneumonia Contagious?

There is no simple answer to this question. Pneumonia can be both, contagious and non-contagious depending upon the cause of pneumonia. Moreover, the contagious causes of pneumonia are not contagious throughout the course of illness, but only during a certain period. A bacterial pneumonia is less likely to be contagious after taking antibiotics for few days. The pneumonias caused by bacteria and viruses are usually contagious, where as those caused by fungus and chemicals is not contagious.

Pneumonia can also be caused by chemical injury to the lung tissue. This may occur due to inhalation of toxic fumes or gases (for e.g. in a fire or industrial accident). Similar chemical pneumonitis might also occur because of aspiration of gastric contents (including gastric acid) in persons with altered level of consciousness (coma patient, excessively drunk persons etc.). These pneumonias are not contagious unless there is also a superimposed viral or bacterial infection after the initial chemical injury.

Q. Is bacterial pneumonia contagious?

Usually not, but some types can be. Most pneumonias come from bacteria we carry in our noses and throats. The bacteria can occasionally gain entry into the deepest parts of our lungs, where they multiply and cause a pneumonia. Some bacterial pneumonias occur when oral or nasal secretions are aspirated during sleep. Because we “catch” these bacteria from ourselves, these pneumonias are not contagious in the way a cold virus is. However, these bacteria sometimes do get passed from person to person in the population. Mycoplasma pneumonia is a common cause of “walking pneumonia” in young adults, and is highly contagious. Tuberculosis (TB) is a special type of bacterial pneumonia that is contagious. TB is very uncommon in the U.S., although people that work in health care are at higher risk. Mycoplasma pneumonia and TB are typically spread by breathing in droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person.

So, it can be contagious at some point(or not). Supposedly it WAS contagious as they claim other Dems have it but supposedly, it's not contagious now according to the doc. How does she know? Maybe she assumes that since she prescribed antibiotics Fri, that by Sun, hilda shouldn't be contagious?

However, we all know that nothing but lies comes from hillary and the dnc. Still, we shouldn't go around saying there's no such thing as Non-contagious bacterial pneumonia because there is such a thing.

Personally, I still go with the arm chair diagnosis of Parkinson's caused pneumonia.

They have obviously done quite a bit of editing in the last 24 hours or so.

Something or someone is being held over the doctor as a threat.
