Brad Pitt On Trump Supporters: ‘I Try To Understand Where They’re Coming From’
Entertainment Tonight Canada ^ | September 7, 2016 | Rachel West

Posted on 09/07/2016 12:57:13 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

While he finds Donald Trump’s popularity unbelievable, Brad Pitt is trying to understand why people are supporting the Republican presidential candidate.

“I can’t bring myself to think that Trump will be in charge. In the simplest terms, what brings us together is good, and what separates us is bad,” the 52-year-old actor tells The New York Times’ T Magazine.

Pitt quotes the Oscar-winning film “The Big Short” and says, “When things are going wrong and we can’t find the reason for it, we just start creating enemies.”

“You gotta understand,” he tells the magazine, “that it’s also in our DNA. Most Americans don’t have time to watch CNN and Fox and Al Jazeera. They’re trying to make the rent, get the kids fed, they’re tired when they get home and they want to forget about everything. And so suddenly when this voice comes in – and it doesn’t have to be a voice of substance – saying he’s fed up with all of this, that’s the part that hooks into the DNA.”

But Pitt remains hopeful about the future.

“What I’m most hopeful about is that we’re a global neighborhood now, and we start to understand each other more and more — and yet, you see this reactionary push for isolation and separation again,” he says of Trump’s exclusionary ideas.

“A Trump supporter is fighting against just about everything,” he says. “What does he even mean, take our country back? Would someone please explain that to me? Where’d it go?”, he concludes.

Mr. Pitt probably does not understand the following about Trump versus Clinton.

Mr. Trump will probably be willing to hear patriots’ grievances concerning the federal government blatantly ignoring its constitutionally limited powers, particularly with respect to unconstitutional federal taxes, while Hillary would probably respond to such grievances by cackling.

“A Trump supporter is fighting against just about everything,” he says. “What does he even mean, take our country back? Would someone please explain that to me? Where’d it go?”, he concludes.

I hope you're taking notes, Brad. Here goes. The statement is not literal, the country is here still physically. However it has been co-opted by a small group of politicians, judges, and lobbyists who refuse to follow the will of the people, choosing instead to enrich themselves while eroding our freedoms. They make themselves unaccountable and collude across party lines to block all efforts we might make to restore some semblance of representative government. In short, there was a bloodless coup that the press refused to cover. The two parties merged without saying it out loud and the little guy, the man in the street, has lost any semblance of feeling like the government is for him, by him, or of him.

Taking it back means stopping the corruption and the lying. It means restoring a responsive and representative government that no long puts special interests ahead of the will of the people. It means putting in place leadership that no longer sees the constitution as a barrier to be overcome but rather cherish and honor it. When those things all happen, we the people will have our country back.

There ya go.

Pitt is a perfect example of somebody who does not have to live day to day under the impact of the policies that they advocate.

I suspect many actors have fairly empty minds—they can’t have too many thoughts up there or they won’t have a place to store their movie script lines ;)

The insular Brad Pitt: “What I’m most hopeful about is that we’re a global neighborhood now..."

No, you pompous jackass. YOU may be in Nice, but we are STILL in America AND "American."

The insular Brad Pitt: “What does he even mean, take our country back? Would someone please explain that to me? Where’d it go?”

The guy really is totally oblivious. Where'd it go, Brad? To Hell in a handbasket, dipwad. Not that you would know, you condescending Hillary piehole-kissing twit.

All of his work is done in a fantasy world. He responds to
“cut” and then redoes his scene again. After a few years, the limp minded find it difficult to transition from fantasy to reality. Making it worse is that with such little talent, he has bucket loads full of money that he’s guilty of having. He has brief moments where he knows he’s a fantasy man but then he merrily does what he’s told....”cut”! There is no chance that he would ever understand ANY politician because the subject matter is real and Brad is too immature and shallow to fathom reality in any form. “Cut”.

Like their ancient pagan counterparts, evolutionary humanists like Pitt believe that evil exists external to man, the helpless victim of forces beyond his control. Evil is in everything from unseen forces and laws of nature, DNA, and the grey matter of all hominids and/or psycho-chemical machines (i.e., Trump, Conservatives, NRA membership) contaminated by evil thought systems.

In his commentary, "Guns,Guns,Guns" Daniel Greenfield points out that if you reject the Genesis account and instead embrace evolutionary thinking, then evil is a chicken and egg question and man is its' helpless victim:

"... Violence had no beginning, except perhaps in the Big Bang, it was always here, coded into the DNA. If people are just grown-up animals, more articulate versions of the creatures who eat each other's young, and sometimes their own young, there is as much use in wondering about the nature of evil as there is in trying to understand why a killer whale kills." (sultan knish, 2012,guns-guns-guns)

In this light hate crime laws, speech control efforts, gun control laws, zero tolerance policies and hysterical fear and hate of Trump are frantic, futile, superstitious attempts to control outbreaks of evil. Daniel Greenfield comments:

"After every shooting there are more zero tolerance policies in schools that crack down on everything from eight-year olds making POW POW gestures with their fingers to honor students bringing Tylenol and pocket knives to school. And then another shooting happens and then another one and they wouldn't happen if we just had more zero tolerance policies for everyone and everything."

Ideas have consequences. They are more powerful than bombs. We can neither understand nor effectively counter Progressive Liberal ideas and the superstition and attendant madness ensuing therefrom until we understand what they believe about evil, the human condition and moral agency.
