Title shortened to fit.

This will not end well for the county.

If Mathis doesn’t immediately file an amended complaint, he’s outed himself as a liar with no integrity.

A few years ago when Texas legalized the possession of a handgun in a personal vehicle, a Harris county DA said he would continue to prosecute anyone with a handgun in their vehicle, regardless of Texas law. Soon afterward his computer was found to have some tasteless emails and was forced to resign. Can’t seem to remember the assholes name at the moment.

If you’re really seeking a declaratory judgement, then the appropriate damages are $1. Also, since the lawyers in your side are government employees who are going to be paid ANYWAY, then only court costs should have been asked for (which would be a few hundred dollars).

Waller County DA Elton Mathis needs to be primaried, or defeated in his next election if he was already nominated.
