There were a good many things Nixon managed to give America which were definitely not in our best interests. Ready to be flogged and beaten, I was rejoicing when he stepped down/aside/out. My very first vote for a President, and this one individual received it. With age, came wisdom, and much more extreme vetting.
You are correct. Nixon was the worst president our country produced until the current one, and that has nothing to do with Watergate. Every conservative should despise the man who invented the Imperial Presidency and befriended Mao, the worst mass murderer in all of history.
