Has anyone ever posted a reply and then wished they can take it back? Yeah. Thats me. If he sends a freepmail to me, I will contribute. Sorry about that. Krap. Don't worry about it. Most of us have done it at one time or another.

God has blessed me. If it works out and I can help I will pass that blessing on.

Hold the phone folks!!! My wife just talked to the dealer she bought the car from. He said if she would bring it by, he would look at it and possibly buy it back from her. She bought it two years ago for $3800, but he may be able to get her close to what we need. His dealership is eighty miles away so we're rolling change to buy the gas to get her there. She has a friend who would drive her home. There is light at the end of this tunnel!!!!God answers prayers and He always provides. Stay close to God and He will stay close to you.

CaptainK and everyone else who has suggested this, if he rents from a small mom and pop landlord maybe they will be kind and cut him some slack.
If it is a large complex or management company they won’t. It is a violation of fair housing laws. If they do it for one, they have to do it for all.

It does not. I filed an eviction on July 11 and they had to be out by August 11. It depends on the state. Ohio is pretty fast.

Has a “notice to vacate’ been given to you yet by the landlord? Have you gone to court yet? Has the date you need to vacate been determined by the court?

Go to the state DHS and apply for SSI which is supplemental income. The standards are different to obtain this and it you should qualify. You will have to pay at least part of that back from your first SS Disability Insurance check { you'll get a large lump sum first time SSDI payment I assume} which you just got approved for. You have something else to consider which is your medical insurance. Medicare doesn't kick in until two years after filing for SSDI if I remember right. You need to get you and her on Medicaid to help cover the medications, doctors, etc. Is she on SSDI? If she is on Medicare then Part D should help pay for her medications. You can also likely get Food Stamps for a month until your check is deposited.
I would try this first BEFORE selling any items you may still need like furniture, vehicle, etc. You and her are facing a long term situation with disability.
For what it's worth I speak from experience. My wife was disabled a c-5/C-6 incomplete quad for 30 years. 22 years ago I became disabled and when we lost my income and only had her check it was rough going for a while until my appeal went through and I was approved. If she isn't drawing a SSDI check tell that to DHS and both of you file for SSI and Medicaid.
You have another emergency option. Call the city housing authority and explain your entire situation they may be able to get you into emergency housing. Good Luck. Yes a lot of jobs in drafting and engineering have been outsourced off shore. My late B.I.L. found himself out of a job when he was about 54. He was a mechanical engineer specializing in HVAC. The Radioactive Waste Storage Facility in Carlsbad,NM he helped design the management came in and did a huge layoff of the engineering dept one morning and he was among the ones they let go. It took him several years to get hired at anything other than a Temp services company.

That’s what I was wondering-temp. services can plug a gap. They will hire long-term at times also!

Job was freed of his captivity once he fully submitted himself to God, and here is an important point in Job 42:10 he prayed for his friends and not himself. I would submit to you to pray that God would search your heart and if there is anything there that offends God, to repent. You can use Psalm 139: 23-24 as the basis for this prayer.
