The media tried to tell us two years ago that the notion of the IRS targeting conservative groups had been debunked and that the scandal had fizzled. Neither of these notions was true. If anything, they were self-fulfulling prophecies. The media didnt want to discover the truth, so they didnt bother to dig for it, thus making it plausible (at least in their warped minds) to claim there was no story.
But there was, and what journalistic malpractice tried hard to cover up, a lawsuit by the pro-Israel advocacy group Z Street has uncovered. In the discovery phase of this litigation, we have learned that the IRS engaged in a great deal if obfuscation and foot-dragging designed to hide what transparency would clearly show. Not only were they targeting conservative groups for delays and harassment, they were openly talking to each other about how to do so, and how to hide the fact that they were doing so.
Corruption in a magnitude never previously seen in the USA
THROW KOSKINEN IN JAIL UNTIL THEY START ANSWERING QUESTIONS
KEEP GOING DOWN THE CHAIN OF COMMAND UNTIL SOMEONE TELLS THE TRUTH
WE NEED TRUMP IN THE WH, THE LAW AND ORDER PRESIDENT v his Queen of Organized Crime opponent.
I'm not sure about that, one thing that certainly exacerbates the situation is the amount of federal overreach (usurped power, really).
It's entirely plausible that we had more corrupt federal agencies which were limited in the damage they could wreak by the fact their scope of power was limited.
In any case, it's yet another proof towards the saying about power corrupting.
....So? We now put Lerner in jail? What is the use of an investigation if it has no outcome. What is the use of a law if it has no consequences. What does this say about our country right now?
I’m surprised these lawsuits get any documents that reflect the truth. I know from personal experience the IRS will falsify documents subject to subpoena, hold them back, or just outright destroy them and claim they don’t exist. This knowledge comes from 15 years inside the IRS and 30 years working from the outside. It’s too bad there’s not another country/place to retire to where this kind of crap doesn’t go on.
