when my son got divorced, he left the house, his lawyer told him, I don't care how you do it but reconcile and get back in the house....let her be the one to leave.....he kept the house through 3 divorces. when the kids got old enough, they chose to leave mom and live with dad....she was not very nice.... the one that leaves the home is considered deserted the house, the one that is left keeps the house in divorce. at least in my state it works that way...
