Agreed, the Romans were in decline in the 4th Century CE, this is WHY Constantine saw the early Christian movement as the perfect strategy to unite the Roman Empire. Constantine FORCED all Roman Citizens to be Christian. Refusal was death. Perhaps, this is what the current Globalists are hoping to achieve with ISLAM.
As for my grasp of history, Fact- The dark ages BLOOMED the more Catholic the Roman Empire became. From the 5th century to roughly the early part of 16th century, the western world of innovation ceased to exist-Thanks to the Roman Catholic Church.

Well a funny thing happened on the way to the ‘reformation”. A certain series of plagues also broke out killing 50 per cent of the European population and in many other parts of the traveled world between 1346 to 1353.(7 years...interesting) It would take until the 17th century to get back to pre-plague population levels in the world and the plagues are often blamed for Europe's ‘stand still’ in growth...as there were sections that were vastly depopulated. You forget that the printing press( I call it the single great forge and anvil of the dissemination of Protestantism) was invented during this so called dark period you are mentioning!
