Julian Assange: 'A lot more material' coming on US elections

(CNN)Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said Tuesday his whistleblowing website might release "a lot more material" relevant to the US electoral campaign.

Assange was speaking in a CNN interview following the release of nearly 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee by suspected Russian hackers.

However, Assange refused to confirm or deny a Russian origin for the mass email leak, saying Wikileaks tries to create ambiguity to protect all its sources. "Perhaps one day the source or sources will step forward and that might be an interesting moment some people may have egg on their faces. But to exclude certain actors is to make it easier to find out who our sources are," Assange told CNN.

The Putin Trump connection is a fabrication of the Clinton campaign. They dumped it on their adoring press. Now the MSM echo chamber is repeating the story and the Clinton campaign is making like the MSM originated the story. Clinton’s minions are being interviewed by the MSM including FOX and say they it’s being reported in the news and “experts”. Who are these “experts”? No one knows, but that doesn’t matter to the Clintons. What matters is the MSM is running with a fabricated story to push the emails content to the back burner. This is so look Clintonian.

“...relevant to the US electoral campaign.”

I interpret that to mean there’ll be stuff coming out to take out our side as well.

That is a big question, but Wikileak will produce documents of which some are correct, some are doctored and some are fake. There is no way we, as outsiders, can know what is what, and for sure if there is a juicy Wikileak mail and HRC releases what she claims is the correct email, very few will believe her.

The purpose of the Russian disinformation is to take away our trust in any information, and they are very good at it. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2015/apr/09/kremlin-hall-of-mirrors-military-information-psychology

“The purpose of the Russian disinformation is to take away our trust in any information,”

The msm has already done that themselves

That’s how CNN wants you to interpret it, but it’s not a quote from Assange.

I wonder if there are some emails from Republicans to the DNC?

Maybe the Republicans know how to secure their e-mails.

The media will report on Russians and stolen emails without a word on what’s in them.

Yes. For that, you would need to go to a foreign news agency.

"Trump already has them"

Whatever gave you that idea? I think he just likes a nice taco bowl now and then. :)

I presume the DNC emails list would include both sent and received.

Matt Tait: On the Need for Official Attribution of Russia’s DNC Hack

More robust responses are also available. The US could name and indict the Russian intelligence officers that ran or authorized the leak. It could add GRU senior officials to the international sanction list. It could make public statements reaffirming the US’ commitment to NATO “in light of recent cyberattacks against the US”. It could declassify and publish evidence of Russian intelligence attacks on other nations. There are lots of options at the administrations’ disposal.

Perhaps the answer is to start small, but with the clear assertion that future leaks will receive escalating diplomatic responses.

But we should be under no illusions. The lack of a response is a decision as well, and a green light to using similar tactics in future. How—and if—we respond to this attack will set the tone for future cyberattacks and response for years to come.

Cyberwarfare is a nightmare.. implications are so serious and can make warriors of people never fit for the actual battlefield. Or should I say, “traditional” battlefield.

Thanks for ping.

Everyone needs to read “The Spike” to learn about how
the media is manipulated, even more so today.

I do too, however it does create a nice dilemma for
the dims, they can hardly claim that any repub leaks
are real while claiming theirs are false.

Not that that will stop them in any way.
