And guess what: The prayer leader asked for it

I guess people who think Jesus was a socialist figure it’s no big deal to substitute one socialist for another, hey?

Dr. Cynthia Hale, who offered the opening prayer, is senior pastor of Ray of Hope Christian Church in Atlanta. She’s not just some Democrat political hack who was told to go up there and go through the motions of doing a prayer so they could say they did it. And my discernment tells me that she was trying to be sincere, although I note two things:

1. A Christian pastor would typically pray “in Jesus’s name” rather than saying to God, “in your name,” because the whole point of invoking a name is that it’s Jesus whose authority we cite in coming before God at all. I wonder if she was told to back away from the Jesus reference - or just decided she ought to - because mentioning Jesus wouldn’t be “diverse” enough for a Democrat convention. Or to put it another way, because the prevailing thinking among Democrats is antipathy toward Christianity.

2. Presuming to tell God, “You have given us wisdom by nominating Hillary Rodham Clinton” might have inspired a divine response: “I did?” You don’t stand there before God and cite some decision you made, and tell God it must have been His idea. That statement turned the prayer into a political speech, and considering how secular the audience is going to be at a Democrat convention, how can anyone really be surprised that the Bernie supporters responded as they did?

Our Gospel reading last Sunday had to do with the publican (Luke 18:11, Douay-Rheims)

The Pharisee standing, prayed thus with himself: O God, I give thee thanks that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, as also is this publican.

I was remionded of that passage when I read the point about picking Clinton.

Most Americans are intellectually and spiritually lazy. They don’t understand our history or our constitution. They don’t understand the guiding principles of our founding fathers were absolutely interwoven with Judeo-Christian principles and morals built on biblical teaching. The majority of kids today come out of K-12 plus thinking we are an awful nation built on the backs of the poor and oppressed - they have no understanding of our nation being the shining beacon on the hill of freedom in an otherwise dark world history. They don’t comprehend the source of light of which Reagan spoke so eloquently.

They have no compass and no foundation. Therefore, they are easily manipulated and fall prey to false teachings, false history, and a false worldview. They don’t see the light of America because the false history of darkness combined with ignorance drives the light from their hearts. We are in deep trouble.

Bernie chants drown out the opening prayer for the DNC, in addition to Soviet flags (at least outside) and apparently, no U.S. flags in the convention hall.

How can anyone, other than those who have difficulty getting their heads around the obvious, deny that the Dem party is being infiltrated at an accelerating rate?

One of the reasons for booing Hillary, if not the principle reason, is that she has abandoned her Marxist inclinations in favor of being a money grabbing thug.

In addition to Bernie, her victims include the poverty-stricken in multiple 3d world locations.

Their website lacks verses from the Bible. Nowhere did I see how to receive salvation. Instead, it only give a feel good message and promises spiritual powers.

Their information about being a member requires you to pledge yourself to the pastor. Cult much?

More cultish language: They promise to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ while promoting the vision and mission of Ray of Hope Christian Church.

And that vision is? To change the present world into the Kingdom of God. (Sorry, but that is not how that works... nor shall it be the hand of man, or woman, that turns this world over to Christ.... They need to read Revelation)

Ms. Hale signed a petition in Georgia, January 2015, that affirmed homosexuality and gay marriage. She must have forgot to read Romans 1-2 as well.
