But then Tapper brought the conversation around to the Obama administration’s response to the shooting:

 

“The Obama administration’s response to a lot of the violence we have seen in the last week has been to talk about further regulations on gun ownership or gun control.

 

What is your view? Do you think that it’s too easy for individuals to get guns in this country?”

 

Brown replied without hesitation:

“Listen, Jake, I wasn’t born last night. Let’s let the policy-makers solve that problem, do their job. I am a servant, so ask me a question about serving this country, and I’ll talk to you for hours.

 

You ask me a policy question that policy-makers haven’t resolved, I’m going to punt and kick it back to you.”

He hasn’t thjought through the open carry bit. I can sympathize that when folks start shooting at you, every weapon in sight appears to be a threat, but not knowing who has weapons can be even more dangerous. Part of life in a Free society and the more guns in the hands of good guys, the safer it will become - if every other person in public had a visible weapon, the bad guys would be afraid to make the first move...
