Kids are left on their own for one reason only - Mom and Dad have abrogated their responsibility to care and nurture and educate and prepare them for life in general.
It is not a question of money - the well-to-do neglect their children as well as the poor.
Making excuses only worsens the problem.
You are so right! Many parents today are very selfish and put their wants above the needs of their children. Our society has suffered for this.
IMO, you’re doing exactly what the Leftists WANT you to do: *NOT* notice the man behind the curtain (IE: GOVT).
Govt that has sucked so much from the family, the idea of a single bread-winner is now passe vs. up-through the 50’s.
Govt inserted into so many facets of everyone’s life, don’t can’t flush the toilet w/out being told how much water to use.
Yes, let’s continue the petty squabbles while GOVT continues to strip us all of property, freedom, choice and Rights (not saying your point is invalid).
