Experts says urine samples, random home visits are unlikely.
President Barack Obama's potential Republican replacements routinely say Hillary Clinton may need to pardon herself if she becomes president, or joke that she flatters Obama because he could put her behind bars.
As the FBI investigation into Clintons use of a private email server nears an eventual end, another hypothetical exists: the former secretary of state agreeing to serve probation to avoid a messy court case for allegedly side-stepping a records retention law and/or mishandling classified information.
Its currently unclear if Clinton will face any criminal charges as a result of the investigation, and its equally uncertain if she could win the presidency after accepting a plea deal assigning her probation.
But in the event FBI investigators and Justice Department attorneys decide charges are warranted, criminologists and officials who administer federal probation rules say its technically possible for the first female president also to be the offices first probationer.
Probation for President Hillary Clinton would not feature interns rushing down Pennsylvania Avenue with urine samples. And it would not feature random home visits at the White House...

This is ridiculous.
Nice hypothesis if you conveniently leave out the part of the law that says if the person is found guilty they are no longer eligible to hold public office...
Any more ridiculous than a marxist muslim usurper?
I’m all for probation... Right after she serves her period of incarceration.
Took words out of my mouth. I thought that among the legal penalties related to these charges, are that the guilty person cannot hold public office. So then, how could she still run for president?
Of course we voters have the final say, but Hillary would still have 47-48% of the vote locked up, regardless of what happens to her legally. That is, if she is allowed to stay on the ballot as a candidate for pres.
Theoretically a guilty Hillary would lose voter support, but not sure how many Democrat voters would abandon her just because she were guilty of some crime.
She wouldn't get "probation" for espionage.
Totally. She’s disqualified for holding public office based on mishandling of classified information just for starters.
She won’t plead guilty to espionage.
I doubt she pleads guilty to anything.
If she did it would be something very minor.
Like forgetting to remind Huma to trim her industrial strength steel wool muzzie curlies and to refill their Vagisil supply. Wait! That might not be so minor to Beasty!
Lost in the fog of all of this legal flatulence is the logical conclusion as to the contents of thumb drive held by Hillary’s attorney. Any clues? What was on it, and did he hold security clearances to maintain custody of it? Why, at the very least, hasn’t Hillary’s security clearance been revoked?
It used to be an executable offense.
Too bad.
It’s beyond ridiculous. Her defenders are out in force, spinning up rumors (CNN) and fanciful scenarios (USNWR)
However, isn’t running for a corrupt political office a violation of probation?
So far, unless someone knows better, none of the people who cut and paste classified onto e-mails destined to the Sec of State....have lost their clearances.
I can’t imagine how this would be possible. You can go and describe this scenario to a hundred different security officers, and each would suggest as a minimum immediate loss of the clearance and a complete investigation.
He didn’t have a security clearance, according to all reports I saw. Supposedly it was just Hillary’s emails that Cheryl Mills and friends had already handpicked.
C’mon, we all know she could eat a live baby on world wide TV and not lose a single vote - even from the GOPe.
