I agree with comfortable grips and a lighter trigger. It’s all the other stuff that people hang off the rifle that I think gets a bit silly. In fact, I would recommend that someone be able to shoot lights out with iron sights at 100 yards before they even think about mounting some kind of optic.
Exactly. I was writing a long post about the concept of “trick out” and all the excesses that could imply, but I figured I’d let this thread play itself out.

Especially when the platform was designed to be light. If the rifle grows to be around 10lbs it better be chambered in .30 cal.
