Professor Michael Eric Dyson argues in a New Republic article that people "have a positive moral obligation to protest the nomination of this racist demagogue" at the GOP convention. He explains why.
MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:
One thing about which there is no dispute is that Donald Trump has made himself the center of political conversation this year. Case in point - a provocative new piece in the New Republic by Michael Eric Dyson, an ordained minister and a professor of sociology at Georgetown University.
In his piece, Professor Dyson writes that Trump's soon-to-be nomination as the Republican presidential nominee has created a moral obligation to protest at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this summer. He joins us from our studios in New York to talk about this. Welcome, Dr. Dyson. Thanks for joining us.
MICHAEL ERIC DYSON: Always great to talk to you.
MARTIN: Why do you think that people have a moral imperative to protest in July?
DYSON: Well, I think that what Donald Trump is doing, the way in which racism, xenophobia, anti-Muslim belief and the like are being expressed through the campaign of Donald Trump, calls for, I think, a very vigorous and aggressive response to what he's saying....

Who the hell is Michael Eric Dyson and why does he need three names?
This guy is nobody and nothing to me.
Anything credible indicating racism by trump?
Democrats are KILLKERS of INNOCENT BABIES....I would NEVER listen to them. EVIL PERSONIFIED!!!
He’s a freelance gestapo bootlicking parasite for the ruling class oligarchs.
Pretentious Leftist Pr**ks and Criminals all have 3 names. Not a lot of difference if any between the two groups . Sarah Michelle Gellar is the only conservative with 3 names in use
Ya ever notice how many mass murderers have three names?
It’s the seriousness of the charge that matters.
I have a moral obligation to go @#$@#$ his @#$@#$.
I wish Jim would charge extra donation fees to use the words you really want :)
I wonder if Governor Kasich is able to put his foot down and hold order...
Leftist, Homosexual, Moral
One of these words does not apply.
This “ordained minister” knows nothing about morals but he knows plenty about the other two.
Racist “pastor” with a penchant for foul language and hates whites. He takes himself very seriously, too.
Perfect for the social justice warriors .
A guy who was obviously a professional student until received his professor badge and thought that 3 names would impress you more than 2?
One of the first things Pres.Trump should do is have a fireside chat with America’s parents documenting how universities are Marxist indoctrination centers and a colossal waste of money. Thousands of parents across the nation know their children have been miseducated with terrible results as they are not fit to make a living and must sponge off aging parents.
And who cares what Dyson thinks and says?
If there were a “racist” out there running for President, I, too, would be out protesting her nomination and candidacy. But Herself, not known for sympathies for the subhumans that Herself encounters when dealing with minorities or some of the lesser Democrat constituencies, is probably far more rabidly racist than most of the (now deceased) Southern Democrats, who had a “special understanding” with the descendants of former slaves.
The soft racism of the entire Democrat party, and their propensity to project upon others the very qualities they least admire in themselves, is the sort of thing on which legends are built. Legends that are much more myth than reality, and exist only as constructs in their own minds.
Amazing how leftist radical atheists embrace the idea of “morality” when defending their interests.
But let a Christian speak about morality and he/she is branded a closed minded bigot.
The politically correct term is “values.” That is what we have been trained to use instead of morality.
The use of all three names is mostly reserved for reminding the miscreant he is being called in for a sharp rebuke, and maybe a fetch upside the head, especially if it is coming from his mother.
