A Rolex was a get-out-of-jail-free card in most States, back in the day.
A cop would have to be crazy to take a Rolex as a bribe. They have a serial number. After paying the bribe, the motorist reports the incident to the FBI or state’s AG, claiming he was the innocent victim of a shake down.
Like I said, back in the day. You were too happy to get home to worry about calling an AG.
I’m just looking at it from the cop’s point of view. There are some really vindictive people out there, and they would have something to be vindictive about, and huge sledgehammer to hold over the cop’s head.
Was he donating to the church? Was the church running a Clinton outreach program?
Postage stamps.
If you want to take a store of value in your pocket and walk right past customs, brigands, Mexican cops, invest in rare postage stamps. As far as value per ounce, these little beauties are on the top of the list. Mix them in with worthless stamps and no one will care. Keep the certificates separate.
I got let off from a speeding ticket today.
The constable was very nice.
I told him I just got a ticket on this tollway last month, and the fines are breaking my balls.
Next time I’ll just offer him a fake Rolex.
