Here’s something that people on the ground in Chicago are all freaked out about (but of course the media won’t report on it accurately and the police seem to be pretending that it’s not happening): is there a serial killer shooting at cars on the highway into Chicago similar to DC’s Beltway Sniper from years ago?
Whenever these shootings are reported on, the media seems to go out of its way to just claim this is random gang violence. But…if that was true then wouldn’t this have always been happening through the years? I find it hard to believe the gangs just decided recently to start shooting at cars when they never did that before. Why start this new “shooting at cars on the highway” thing…or missing each other and accidentally hitting cars (which is what the police try to claim is happening, but that makes little sense)?
Doesn’t it seem more plausible that a serial killer (or pair of serial killers, similar to the Beltway Sniper killer-team) is at work?
The Beltway Sniper was a two-person team working around DC in 2002. The serial killers in that instance turned out to be 42-year old John Allen Muhammad and his 17-year old accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo. Muhammad, a member of the Nation of Islam, was executed by lethal injection in 2009 for murdering at least 10 people in the sniper attacks. Malvo remains in prison without the possibility of parole. If you recall, the media tried hard at the time to pretend that Muhammad and Malvo were not serial killers either (especially after the media caught onto the connection to the Nation of Islam).
Here in 2016, it feels like the media and police want to try pretending these Chicago shootings are just random gang violence because that’s less scary than a serial killer who is hunting cars for prey (especially if it is a black shooter targeting white people driving to and from work in the city). I know plenty of suburbanites who are scared out of their minds over this…and they have stopped driving into the city as a result. Everyone here is desensitized to gang violence and white people in the suburbs figure that they will never be impacted by the black-on-black crime in the Southside that bleeds across the Tribune’s front page every Monday morning (what local tee-vee reporter Evelyn Holmes always calls the latest Murder-Death-Kills). But, the specter of a serial killer would get suburbanites’ attention in ways that would hurt all of the tourist-dependent entities downtown. Can’t have that just as summer fun season is heating up.
Even conservative outlets like HotAir fail to put the pieces together and see a serial killer pattern, not just random shootings. Why is that?
This is another example of watching a story being reported on completely opposite to what people who live here in Chicago are saying about it. It’s like being in Russia in 1980-something and reading Pravda or Iskra…or listening to Baghdad Bob during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, as he literally reported the exact opposite of what was really happening all around him on live tee-vee.
Have you noticed any of this?
What think you: is random gang violence more comforting a thought than the specter of a serial killer hunting in Chicago?
I’m not going to say there’s not a serial killer.
But just about everytime there’s a shooting, if you scrape the surface just a little, you find a Son of Obama. The media leave that tidbit out consistently, which is a great disservice to the black community. These are not kids from Skokie doing the shooting. To the people on the ground, it looks the gangbangers are using each other for plinking practice.
Once in a great while there’s a stray bullet that takes out a grandma or a kid doing homework in her bedroom. As a rule, that’s not the case; the author cites no actual shootings which fit his hypothesis.
Just the other day, a 15 year old girl was shot in a car driven by her 28 year old ‘friend’ on Lake Shore Drive at Fullerton. At 1:30am. Might the he have been the target?

I am surprised that it is 79.9% and not 100%. There is rule in chicago snitches get stitches and cops get sued for doing their jobs
My coworkers at the Detroit (different city, but same attitude) plant dismissed my safety concerns with a casual wave of the hand. They said that only certain areas were dangerous and most of them only at certain times. One pointed at a city map on the wall and said, “they kept most of the ferals bound in this area by the interstate. And, mostly they don’t go far to shoot people. It’s only one group that does the killing.” (Okay, he didn’t call them a group, but if I used the term he used I’d be instantly labeled racist and flamed out of existence.)
Looking at your death map its obvious the same is true for Chicago. Now we can’t even discuss the most obvious commonality between the shooters. When I was a kid and you could buy a hand gun with no requriements at all, over the counter in Sears, K-Mart and other retailers, none of this random killing was going on. But by the end of the sixties you could clearly see the change in society. One of the huge changes made during that period was President Johnson’s Great Society. This giant money giveaway took land in the inner cities that was OWNED by blacks, condemned it and built giant Soviet style apartment blocks. Then the government gave money to people who had been making it on their own. They got more money if they had children but weren’t married. I can’t help think that removing the father from what, just a short time before had been a strong nuclear family, and taking away their ability to live independently, might (/s) have an impact resulting in the feral killers running rampant on the streets of every city today.
This is one of the worst written news articles that I have ever read: The author speculates that a serial killer is stalking Chicago, but fails to offer any evidence to support the theory.
In north Newark NJ they took that land from Italians to build their high-rise tenements (despite the warnings about how it would destroy the neighborhood); within decades they demolished the buildings and replaced them with low-rises (including some that offer subsidized mortgages, making the Welfarians owners instead of tenants).
Many of the original Italians watched this from neighboring suburbs and were completely vindicated in their opposition...
In Colorado on North I25 “road debris” was breaking windows out of vehicles. One girl got hit with 45 caliber “road debris”. One bicyclist got shot and killed riding down the road. The epidemic of “road debris” has now hit Chicago.
Which routes are dangerous, and which are less dangerous? Is I-294 and I-57 South from I-294 reasonably safe? I have to go there in July.
Malvo was an illegal alien, apprehended by US Border Patrol, and then cut loose by a legal system too lazy to deport illegals.

Were this happening in Park Ridge, the cops would put a stop to it.
The despicable media play it as if the murders are in Park Ridge, so that the citizenry imagines it as such.
When in fact it is the distillation of liberal social policy writ large.

This is a stupid story with no evidence to back it up. Were any bullets recovered and compared?
I-294 and I-57 are well away from the violence, you'll be fine.
Honestly, most of Chicago is safer that just about anyplace in the world.
If you look at http://heyjackass.com, the '2016 Deadliest ‘hoods', you'll see it's concentrated in a few neighborhoods. The statistical norm (100 years) for most neighborhoods (domestic killings, neighbor squabbles, gangs, drug dealers) is not of concern to the average citizen throughout the city.
This is almost exclusively black/black gang retaliation.

The column didn’t give any specifics. I am not up to speed on Chicago shootings. Have there been a lot of whites shot on freeways or at Home Depots?
