There is a windfall now. It will be worked into everyone’s budget next year. They will be crying to increase the tax in two or three years.

Or they could use it to reduce their debt load. But that would NEVER happen in America.

That's exactly what will happen. But unlike tobacco or alcohol, marijuana can be easily grown at home and that's exactly what people will do. The tax revenue will plunge.

The state will not have the option of making the tax as onerous as they have done with cigarettes.
