Average Americans Are Stupid?

America's elitist class: millions of average Americans are irredeemably, hopelessly and unrelentingly stupid

It began with MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber in 2014. Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes amplified it a couple of weeks ago. And now, in an equal opportunity bashing from the other side of the political dividing line, The Federalist senior editor David Harsanyi has offered yet another look at one idea that apparently unites America’s elitist class: millions of average Americans are irredeemably, hopelessly and unrelentingly stupid.

Gruber led the elitist charge, revealing the Obama administration’s behind-the-scenes efforts to get the Affordable Healthcare Act passed. “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” he stated. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass… “

Okay. Then average Americans are ignorant and don’t want to learn.

To be fair, even if they have the right information and frameworks, there's still a lot that's ingrained against using it. For example, what would happen if (a) your state constitution flatly prohibited the state from making gun-laws [see ND's Constitution; Art 1, secs 1, 20, and arguably 21], (b) a state law prohibiting firearms in, say, a bar, and (c) the citizen violates the state law to make a case against it under the state constitution? (I've been told by several lawyers that you have to break the law in order to challenge its legitimacy, therefore making you implicitly acknowledge that law's authority and forcing you to argue from a point of weakness.)

How many people have the wherewithal, the resources, and the conviction to make such a stand against the system?

Fish,

That’s an excellent video! I’ve seen excerpts in the past, but will make it a point to watch the whole thing.

Not to get too biblical, but deception is a tool wielded by enemies of humanity.

Deception, division, destruction. That’s pretty much been the routine by our masters for a while now...

(hasn’t barak hussein deceived, divided and destroyed for the past seven years?) He’s a tool.

Thanks,
Kit.

By all means, get biblical.
I find Theology to be vastly unappreciated. So sad that the "Queen of the Sciences" should be reduced to such low regard.

That may be; but I find a lot of the accusations against him to be somewhat wanting, in particular, he could do virtually nothing without the consent and help of the Congress. IOW, it's not a him exclusively-personally thing but rather a corporate-conspiracy thing; if Congress were to merely defund things like the NSA (for violating the 4th Amendment), the BATFE (for violating the 2nd), the DHS (for not doing the job of securing the country), and ObamaCare (there's so many things wrong with it…) then the "political landscape" would be vastly different.

I’m with you.

The Great Deceiver doesn’t operate alone.

He’s....Legion....

Congress, state assemblies, local officials, media, movie stars, ‘church’ leaders, (our masters) are complicit in letting this happen.

Now where are we? Hapless and powerless.

I’ll just hunker down, take care of my own. And wait.

Exhibit A is residing in the White House.

So basically, democratically electing our representitives is too much to entrust to the common citizen. That is tyranny.

Those you describe are “Americans”? Obama says they are, but I see no indication of anything remotely “American” there...

You know, I don't think that's quite true

I agree, there is a vast difference between "stupid" and "ill-educated"

I know lots of people who simply have never been taught the basic fundamentals of civics, critical thinking, philosophy, religion, math, writing, science and lots of other subjects...

Unfortunately, most people actually believe their faceboob news feeds as factually and correct....

I am constantly correcting my nieces and nephews on idiotic meme's on various subjects they post on faceboob...

Stuff so basic, it mind-boggling...

Here is one...

Considering the Federal Reserve Banking system was founded on December 23, 1913 50 years after Lincoln was assassinated...

It's on the internet so it must be true...

If the media hides things like this, how will America know what government officials are up to?

In 2012, a news team sent a reporter out to polling stations to do a live, “man on the street” report with voters. She started talking with a young AA woman who had just voted, was going on about how important it was to vote, do her duty, blah, blah. The reporter, thinking she had an informed citizen, asked “For you personally, what do you think is the most important race this election?” I kid you not, without missing a beat, this lady answered “Black.” Left the reporter absolutely speechless, total dead air. It was priceless! They just stared at each other for about 15 seconds, then the station cut away.
