Barack Obama has wrapped up his historic visit to Vietnam by throwing down some beats for a Vietnamese rapper.

The President was taking questions at a town hall-style meeting in Ho Chi Minh city when a young woman introduced herself as a hip hop artist before asking her question.

Mr Obama immediately invited her to show off her talent, asking "do you need a few beats?"

The woman, named Suboi and renowned as Vietnam's "queen of hip hop," then serenaded Obama with Vietnamese lyrics about whether people are really happy if they have lots of money.

Seemingly delighted with the exchange, Obama praised the journey of hip-hop "which started out as an expression of poor African Americans" and became a "global phenomenon".

The US President went on to field questions on everything from rap and weed smoking to his good looks at the lively meeting with young Vietnamese, who see the US leader as a far cry from their staid Communist rulers....

Never got into the “not my president” movements. I thought it was emotionally immature when Democrats did it to Bush. My opinion of it failed to improve under Obama.

OK. Obama is your president.
He’s not mine, noob.
I suppose that makes me an emotionally immature “hater” by your lights.
And as well a racist? Xenophobe? Bigot?
Dry up.

Nah. I doesn’t make you racist. Or xenophobic. Or a bigot. It’s just a coping mechanism. I guess if you need it you need it. However, at the end of the day he was lawfully elected and duly sworn in. By any objective measure that makes him president and I don’t see where I gain anything by denying that.

Also, the one word you put in quotes is one I didn’t use.

Hey, maybe they need a recycled President. We're about done with ours. You commies keep him out of your bathrooms and it'll be all good!

Yes, the obamessiah that we don’t deserve. I feel so unworthy. And I am such an unselfish person that I give my permission for Vietnam to keep him.
