Yes! Desert rats. US Jeeps with 50 cals (or was it .30s)vs Nazi tanks. Extra Jerry cans of petrol to make things blow up real good.

Of course!

And if you’ve never read The Phantom Major, about Sir David Stirling and the formation of the SAS in the North African desert in WWII, you should do so. Their exploits in raiding German airbases and behind-the-lines logistics facilities were the real life Rat Patrol.

I always said, when the Army adopted the HumVee, that sooner or later they would have to re-invent the Jeep.

I spent the better part of 8 years in the ARNG in a Battalion Scout Platoon, running patrols in the M152 jeep.
