The new MOS based PT tests will also exclude men from going into MOSs they are not qualified for. That is a good thing.
One USMA female cadet I know who branched infantry is on the triathlon team. Girls that make it through IOBLC will be fine.
Kids today are used female leadership — more than I will ever be. I just hope the Army does not start force branching girls into combat MOSs because diversity.
“One USMA female cadet I know who branched infantry is on the triathlon team.”
They’re going to put a girl in charge of a platoon in combat?
Incredible.
“female leadership”
Wow. The oxymoron of the millennium, this early.
13foxtrot, is isn’t a case of one female being able to do something some randomly chosen guys can’t do.
It is a case of everything from combat logistics right down to unit cohesion.
If you find one woman who can do the job of a SEAL, will the logistical chain and facilities everywhere be adjusted to account for this single female who can cut it? Or will she be expected to be exactly like the guys, use the same facilities, medical care, supply chain, etc.?
As for branching girls into combat MOSs because of diversity, is there even any question about that?
It really doesn’t have anything to do with respecting women or accepting leadership from them. This is combat, not industry.

Booya brother!
It is noteworthy that a woman you know was on the triathlon team. But the problem is that the three exercises they do in triathlon are swimming, running, and bike riding. None of these points equate to carrying a heavy sack, a weapon, or a body and running 100 years in a firefight. Sports is one thing and can be considered. But none of the exercises she does compares to the need to protect herself, her unit, or the finalization of the mission. Thank you for the entry.
