A LOT OF low hanging Democrats if "President" Trump can win the WH. Bush 43 picked up a couple 2 years into his first term but sold his conservative soul in the process. If Trump loses we will ALL know what we have to do. This time around there are winnable seats only in Colorado and Nevada. Don't count on it. Your EXPERT thoughts only please.
What?
honestly too concerned about results of this year’s senate races. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2018
Don’t get what you’re saying here.
Not sure if he has one. If he does, it isn't conservative.
Putin looked into his eyes and never mentioned seeing anything.
The primary problem is finding a likely candidate who has the organization and financing to run. (Or, the ability to develop the organization and financing.) People who are successful start in lower office and develop the contacts they need. It isn’t enough for somebody to say, hey, there’s a winnable seat somebody go for it.
We’ve seen conservative candidates fail because, while sincere, they have no political acumen. The press will be after them and will attempt to trick them so you get people saying things like women who are raped don’t get pregnant or equally idiotic comments. These get played up and no matter how good the candidate they are viewed as toxic to the 11 percent of the voters in the middle who are neither Democrats or Republicans, but whose votes often sway the election one way or the other. (Approximately 40% are D’s and 40% R’s.)
It would be great if the GOP would get behind likely candidates, but the GOP picks middle-of-the-roaders who cross the aisle. Few conservatives want that type of candidate. But if the party did get behind a conservative it would be helpful if they ran them through practice gauntlets to prepare them for the ordeal of dealing with the hostile gotcha press.
Bushes and conservatism? What a laugh. He brought us the expression, ROP.
Sometimes people don’t appear to be who they really are....
I will stand corrected. I just don’t think any GOOD Senate candidate should hurt for lack of funds. Between the primary and November a lot can happen but prior to the nomination it’s no secret who the best candidates are. Maybe commitments($) can be guaranteed to get the good ones to jump in.
The odds of losing the Senate this year are huge. We have 24 seats up for vote and the democrats have only 10...something close to that.
That’s why Trump should NOT pick any Senator as his running mate. We are already in danger of losing the Senate. Why make it worse?
Bingo! Even Governors like Pence and Kasich. Pence would be underemployed in the Senate. Those seats are hard enough to get anyhow.
McCain will get primaried and Kelli Ward will hold his seat.
Rob Portman in OH will lose.
I agree on worry about the 2016 elections. It seems to me that even a Trump win is no guarantee of any outcome in the Senate or House in 2016.
My concern is that a lot of Trump support comes from people who sincerely and with good reason dislike the National Republican Party. The ‘Rat Party could make substantial gains if people vote both for Trump and against Congressional candidates based on how much they dislike the current Republicans.
Trump is probably going to have to work hard to have a Republican majority in Congress in 2017.
Do not see the Republicans retaining control of the Senate after this election.
Let’s wait at least until 11/9/16 to worry about 2018, shall we? Right now, I am only concerned about getting rid of that traitorous rat, Corker at that point.
Stay concentrated on defeating Hillary.
We need clandestine conservatives that appear to be in the middle in order to get elected.
While many are displeased and dislike the NRP, given the choice between an R & D, they will vote to kill the rat.
Can you post the list of the 24 senatorial seats coming up this year? And the 10 Dems, plz.
Yep. I’m on cell. I’ll get to my computer later. It’s probably listed on wiki, if you don’t want to wait.
No it’s okay, just curious. When you get a chance, is fine.
