PA: Black People with Guns Matter

Maj Toure is a 29 year old black activist in Philadelphia who wants black people  in urban centers to exercise their Second Amendment rights.  From philly.com:

Toure is a young African American man who grew up in North Philadelphia watching the destruction caused by gun violence, but who nonetheless was attracted to firearms, and became an official, dues-paying NRA member and legal gun owner.

"The stigma, especially in an urban environment like Philly, is if you have a gun, you're either law enforcement or the bad guy," Toure said when we talked recently. "What we're trying to do is say that just because you have a gun doesn't make you the bad guy. But while you have your firearm, which you have the right to have, you have to be a responsible, card-carrying good guy."
It is nice to see an idea that has been pushed by many Second Amendment activists take root in Philadelphia. Philadelpia officials have been adamantly opposed to citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights.

John Lott has found that urban minorities benefit the most from being legally armed. This seems obvious on reflection.  Those areas are where the highest crime rates are. From uchicago.edu:
Lott: I won’t speculate about motives, but the results tell a different story. High crime urban areas and neighborhoods with large minority populations have the greatest reductions in violent crime when citizens are legally allowed to carry concealed handguns.
A strong reason to encourage black people to be armed is to reinforce the idea that the Constitution applies to them as well as everyone else.  When a black person sees that they can be legally armed, it shows that the promises of the Constitution are being enforced.  Belief in the criminal justice system is essential for a low crime rate.

Black people were the first to be disarmed as the "Shall not be infringed" clause of the Second Amendment was eroded over time. Considerable history has to be overcome to change black attitudes about weapons permits.  The permit systems were used to disarm black people .  It is common to see opinions on the Internet that black people will not be able to get permits or legally defend themselves.

Attitudes are changing rapidly. It seems that society has hit a tipping point.  From the article:
And Toure is hitting on something that is playing out nationally, which is the rise of gun ownership, and gun clubs, among African Americans, and the rise in urban areas of law-abiding citizens brazenly open-carrying. According to a December 2014 poll by the Pew Research Center, 54 percent of blacks said they believed guns were more likely to protect people than to put their safety at risk. That figure was up from 29 percent two years earlier.
The changing attitudes toward the Second Amendment may build support for Republicans in the coming election. Donald Trump has strong Second Amendment positions in his campaign. Hillary Clinton has made gun control and attacks on gun manufacturers a major plank in hers.  It is one of the strongests contrasts on the issue in the last 20 years.

President Obama went to considerable lengths to portray himself as a Second Amendment supporter, and waited until he had been elected to a second term before pushing hard for more gun control measures.

More black people believing the Constitution works for them means more black people leaving the Democrat plantation.

Take a breath, engage brain, think it through, then tell us what your mind thinks when it is properly prepared.

Mass Transit does not make it out in the countryside here.
And most inner city trash does not drive.
Course if they do they would not fit in too well and my private neighborhood would react
If they stay in the inner city and kill each other, no one cares.

That is probably why NJ gun laws are strict in comparison to PA; the suburbs are exposed to raids along the Welfarian reservation frontiers (though this should allow for LOOSER restrictions for the strategic hamlets to defend themselves)...

I saw a Hillary for Prison 2016 a few days a go, it would be fun but not at the expense of my new trucks paint.

Residents need to be able to defend themselves against the resident evil.

Law enforcement agencies are hand cuffed. Now is the time for all good men to step up and step out the refuse.

The Supreme Court of the United States, IN 1857, said they had the RIGHT, if they were citizens of the USA.

Dred Scott vs Sanford.
What the SCOTUS thought about gun control in the pre Civil War era.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/historics/USSC_CR_0060_0393_ZO.html

It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognised as citizens in any one State of the Union, the RIGHT to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased, to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished;
and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs,
and to KEEP AND CARRY ARMS wherever they went.

What a jerk ass comment.

Do you honestly believe that every inner city black is a feral criminal? You obviously don’t know jack shit about that community.

The truth is that the majority of those people are law abiding citizens who are being preyed upon by a low life segment of their population. They’re at far higher risk of being injured or killed by those animals, due to their immediate proximity.

Hell yeah, they need to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights!

I was going into the grocery store yesterday afternoon when I saw a young couple putting their groceries in the car. The wife, who was white, was in the process of taking the shopping cart to the storage area. The husband, who was black, was closing the trunk so that his right side was turned toward me where I could easily see a pistol in a holster. In NC, gun owners are allowed to carry weapons if they are properly displayed.

I felt strangely comforted by the sight of this couple. I live in a military town, so seeing a gun in a holster is not that uncommon, but it was the image of this young couple working together to accomplish a task that is often left to the wife, expressing the opposite sentiment to "Black Lives (Only) Matter" by marrying someone of a different race, and exercising their Second Amendment right. This is the America that Hillary seeks to destroy and that DJT wants to restore.

“Up yours.
I know quite a bit about “that community”, tough guy.
I suggest you take your head out of your ass and take a ride to “that community” on a Friday night and tell me what you know about “that community””

You’d have to spend more than a Friday night in the hood to know as much about those people as I do, seeing as I’m one of them.

Oh - what?? Yeah, fool. I’m a black man from South Central Los Angeles. Compton, to be specific. I think I might know a bit more about the black community than you do.

As I said, most people in the inner city are law abiding individuals who are at greater risk of being victimized by the thug element than you’ll ever be. Arming themselves, and fully execising their 2nd Amendment rights is a good thing.
