Air Travel: If a private company wasted billions of taxpayer dollars, hired workers who failed to do their job 95% of the time, and then forced people to wait in line for hours, how long do you think theyd be in business? So why is the TSA being treated any differently?

Because no private company will want to take on the liability associated with a failure to detect an explosive device that is used to vaporize an airliner?
Because they're a government employee union. Duh.
“If a private company wasted billions of taxpayer dollars, hired workers who failed to do their job 95% of the time, and then forced people to wait in line for hours...”
You’d know it was a put-up job on the part of the US government.
I think the TSA is purposely causing delays at select airports. Why?
Its a trick most government agencies have learned when they want more funding. That, or they are trying to force Americans to apply for the TSA trusted traveller program.
Simple, more union jobs, more union dues payers, more contributions from unions to Hillary.
If you think the standard TSA groper is a dope, the Supervisors have them beat by a mile.
90% of them are Jeh Johnson clones who stand around in expensive suits and scowl and when they show up, the goons in blue go into full Gestapo mode, screaming at passengers and pulling lots of people out for secondary screening.
And the solution to this is to hire more of them and give them lots of overtime?
In 15 years they have achieved the competency level of all Federal Agencies, which is zero.
Hire the Israelis to do airport security, problem solved.
Well, have you seen the lines for the TSA pre-approved, lately? As long - or longer - than the reg line :(
I'll ask my son if the delays are TSA induced. I doubt he'll have the answer as he works at Love Field, a much smaller airport than DFW or O'Hare.
The solution is simple have pay line and a free line.
I just left St. Louis on Friday 13 May at around 8 AM. I have “TSA PRECHECK” on my boarding pass. There were a dozen people in line going in to the C Concourse. The TSA rep called me up to the podium. She asked me if I wanted to go through the pre-check line. ... I had to ask her to repeat the question. - “Do you want to go through the Pre-Check line?” Why would I want to go through the extra BS? I don’t know if she is required to ask stupid questions or if that is the process to get the lines longer during the daytime.
It is easy.
Fire the TSA, every one of those over weight dressed in blue goobers.
Hire a bunch of 60 year old folks, let them sit on a chair and point out who gets frisked.
PC? No, but they sure would not be shaking down a grandma and letting Omar Aladuba pass.
Just saying.
TSA Pre is a scam to get people to pay $85 bucks so a bunch of hacks in DC can get a nice federal job arbitrarily handing out approvals based on secret criteria, with no refund if they deny you.
I have a DHS security clearance and badge, you think that would be good enough, but no, they want the $85 bucks.
Some airports have priority access lines through security, that works better than TSA Pre, but you have to have Gold or Platinum Status or be flying First Class.
I have flown every week for the last 10 years and have never seen the chaos unleashed on these poor souls who don’t have a work around.
If your flight is about to board don’t wait in line like a dope and miss it, push your way up to the front, no passengers are authorized to stop you.
Meanwhile, Mohammads and Akbars blow up people and shoot them in the streets. We can’t let planes be hijacked.
They just need to do the “illegal” profiling.
Would not be surprised if Mr. Trump goes to the WH there could be effort to go changing to having private high security firms take over and give rid of the TSA.
Where is Reagan when you need him?
"...If your flight is about to board dont wait in line like a dope and miss it, push your way up to the front, no passengers are authorized to stop you..."
Drudge had a great photo of a line of TSA employees. It was classic.
In Atlanta at Hartfsfield-Jackson this made the top story yesterday with lines snaking around to baggage claim with wait times of “an hour or more”. I heard it’s a lot more than a hour according to some passenegers tweets.
They are blaming it on 1 of the 3 checkpoints being closed for “redesign” to speed up the screening process but I don’t buy it as they also said that this checkpoint would reopen on May 24th but things would not yet be completely back to normal next week.
I was supposed to fly down to Sarasota next Friday May 27th to see a friend but have decide to drive.
Hell with letting those little Nazis Lord over me all morning and possibly miss my flight.
