Breath taking the level of corruption in our gubbamint. Rule of Law? Pffft! There is no rule of law. Our society has become lawless...particularly on the ferrule level.
As the old saying goes:
Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Most of our politicians are feeling absolute power which is why they tend to ignore the unwashed masses (as they view us).
