He’s a jerk, but now he’s our jerk. And yes, he can win.

post cover

Donald Trump has won the Indiana primary in landslide. With Ted Cruz dropping out and barring a coup d'etat at the convention he is the nominee.

Trump's negatives are very high (but then, so are Hillary's) but it is undeniable that there is a hunger out there for what he represents. And that is, being out of the yoke of the establishment. Statements such as this

"The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That's the conflict here,"
really piss people off. The GOP overlords make clear that your vote doesn't matter. It's an Outer Limits kind of thing:

Voting for Trump makes people feel like they still are part of a democracy and they want a voice. For better or worse, Trump is not beholden to mega donors. In fact, they're sitting on their checkbooks, and frankly, that will provide Trump with even more appeal to the average voter.

Trump can win. He can beat Hillary. Some interesting rumblings are afoot. There is a recent Rasmussen poll showing Trump over Hillary 41-39:

Last week, Rasmussen Reports gave voters the option of staying home on Election Day if Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the big party nominees, and six percent (6%) said that’s what they intend to do for now. Clinton and Trump were tied with 38% support each; 16% said they would vote for some other candidate, and two percent (2%) were undecided.

But Trump edges slightly ahead if the stay-at-home option is removed. Trump also now does twice as well among Democrats as Clinton does among Republicans.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 41% support to Clinton’s 39%. Fifteen percent (15%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Trump has reached a new high level of support among Republicans:
Donald Trump reached a new high among Republicans in a national NBC News|SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday.

The real estate mogul has 56 percent support, more than doubling his advantage over Ted Cruz, who sits at 22 percent. John Kasich rounds out the survey with 14 percent support. An additional 7 percent remain undecided.

But it's later on in the article that things get interesting:
In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup, Clinton beats both Trump and Cruz, though many voters haven’t surveyed haven’t decided who they would vote for. Of those who did, however, Clinton tops Trump by 6 percentage points (43 percent to 37 percent) and Cruz by 14 percentage points (44 percent to 30 percent).
Six points is not a big lead for now and that was with Cruz in the race. But here's why Trump can win. A CNN/ORC poll shows Clinton leading 54-41 but again, it's in the nitty gritty where the important stuff lies:

And he is pandering to the Cruz people for their vote. You could hear it in his voice

Trump said: “Senator Cruz is a helluva a good fighter”

Underlying comment: Cruz was such a dip. But I guess I will say something nice so as not to offend his supporters. I really need their vote.

Trump said: I respect Ted.

Underlying comment: I could care less about Ted. He is a loser. I’m the big cheese. Ted get you a$$ back to Texas. But I still need your supporters to vote for me in November.

“Not my jerk, and there’s no way I’d ever vote for him. He’s a crazy, immoral jerk, who has also failed in every business he has been in (they’ve gone into bankruptcy, foreclosure or have ended in massive lawsuits) except for the RE business he inherited from Daddy, which he apparently let Daddy’s people run. Well, them and the Mob, because Trump’s father was famously mobbed up and in with the mobbed up construction unions.”

I see the pro-hillary trolls are still with us.

Bashing Trump at FR is over. All you’re doing now is helping Hillary.

Our esteemed owner posted yesterday:

“it’s time for all patriots to forget about the Cruz v Trump flamewars and unite behind our nominee to focus on defeating the godless America-hating traitor, Hillary Clinton.”

If you can’t do that, then you should go ahead and opus out and go hang out at rightscoop.com, redstate.com or the like. Your anti-trump posts will be greatly appreciated at those places.

Still upset that your last ditch amnesty candidate isn’t going to save your North American Union we see.

Too bad.
Trump won.
United States sovereignty turned out to be the dominant issue this cycle.

Some people have built their Temple of Conservatism. It has it’s Commandments that must be obeyed. Anyone who violates these Commandments is a heretic. A problem is that the traditional monolithic concept of a conservative isn’t working. No one is going to win by following Rush Limbagh’s advice. The GOP as a traditional entity is dead. Moreover the 50’s aren’t coming back.

We are in a battle. The Wills and Cristols and such (agents of international anti-American interests like the IMF and Soros and Gates) are going to do everything they can to keep us under heel. If they win we can look forward to an Earth with a population of 600 million... A mass murder scheme of unprecedented proportions. TheBushes and Clintons and all their ilk are agents of this unparalleled evil.

Something must change. Will Trump be an agent of change? I don’t know. But I do know that any other option at this time is off the table. At this point I see anyone who is willing to see Hillary be President as an enemy. I don’t want to leave a world where my grandkids will have their entire lives mapped out by bureaucrats and psychologists. If they aren’t simply determined as excess by some future Hillary.

Yes. She is that evil.

A jerk??? How do you define “jerk?”

This guy is brilliant. I don’t like some of his ranting, but what he says about matters of substance, he is right on.

He is just what we need at this place in history. Thank you Lord!!

So you all in for Hillary? Have fun with that. Apparently a bitter Cruz guy. Cruz is a self righteous zealot who wears his religion on his sleeve and pulls his Bible out when he needs it. And his Dad is batsh&& crazy.

And Cruz never became a US Citizen until he wanted to be in office.

And Trump is not a failure by any means. Sorry.

Come November you’ll vote for him. You know you will. This smattering of “I won’t vote for...” is just butthurt and posturing. You all do not want to be the people telling your grandchildren that you were a whiney little prissy when push came to shove back in 2016.

Adding another three questions to your list:

1. Do you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews?
2. Do you want them living in a communist country created by Obama, and furthered by Hillary?
3. Or do you want your descendants thriving in a country where there is a chance their hopes and dreams can be realized?

It’s not like Hillary doesn’t have a “few” inconsistencies of her own, which she found out recently in West Virginia. After her “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business” comment, she was confronted by a laid-off coal miner and responded “What I said was totally out of context from what I meant because I have been talking about helping coal country for a very long time.” Now what the hell does “What I said was totally out of context from what I meant” mean?!

As an interesting aside, the Fox News story on her response to the coal miner doesn’t even contain the totality of her response. It just refers to her characterization of her original comment as a “misstatement”.

In Trump’s case, I suspect we’ll see that Trump’s treatment of Hillary will be much different than Dole’s treatment of Bubba and McCain’s and Romney’s treatment of Obama.

He ain’t my jerk. And when he changes parties again you’ll realize he was never your jerk either.

If you're NeverTrump, just admit it.

This community has decided to give Trump a chance. If you're not willing to do that, after the GOP having the gun-controller, architect of 0bamacare as the nominee last time around, then you're just helping to elect Hillary.

We don't need Hillary-helpers in this community.

If you want to bash the only person who is in a position to defeat Hillary, I'm sure you'll fit right in over at DU.

Vote Trump
