Donald Trump has won the Indiana primary in landslide. With Ted Cruz dropping out and barring a coup d'etat at the convention he is the nominee.
Trump's negatives are very high (but then, so are Hillary's) but it is undeniable that there is a hunger out there for what he represents. And that is, being out of the yoke of the establishment. Statements such as this
"The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That's the conflict here,"really piss people off. The GOP overlords make clear that your vote doesn't matter. It's an Outer Limits kind of thing:
Voting for Trump makes people feel like they still are part of a democracy and they want a voice. For better or worse, Trump is not beholden to mega donors. In fact, they're sitting on their checkbooks, and frankly, that will provide Trump with even more appeal to the average voter.
Trump can win. He can beat Hillary. Some interesting rumblings are afoot. There is a recent Rasmussen poll showing Trump over Hillary 41-39:
Last week, Rasmussen Reports gave voters the option of staying home on Election Day if Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the big party nominees, and six percent (6%) said thats what they intend to do for now. Clinton and Trump were tied with 38% support each; 16% said they would vote for some other candidate, and two percent (2%) were undecided.Trump has reached a new high level of support among Republicans:But Trump edges slightly ahead if the stay-at-home option is removed. Trump also now does twice as well among Democrats as Clinton does among Republicans.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 41% support to Clintons 39%. Fifteen percent (15%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Donald Trump reached a new high among Republicans in a national NBC News|SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday. But it's later on in the article that things get interesting:The real estate mogul has 56 percent support, more than doubling his advantage over Ted Cruz, who sits at 22 percent. John Kasich rounds out the survey with 14 percent support. An additional 7 percent remain undecided.
In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup, Clinton beats both Trump and Cruz, though many voters havent surveyed havent decided who they would vote for. Of those who did, however, Clinton tops Trump by 6 percentage points (43 percent to 37 percent) and Cruz by 14 percentage points (44 percent to 30 percent).Six points is not a big lead for now and that was with Cruz in the race. But here's why Trump can win. A CNN/ORC poll shows Clinton leading 54-41 but again, it's in the nitty gritty where the important stuff lies:

At least Trump doesn't beat his wife in public like Ole Tedders here LOL!
Save the “jerk” description for someone who has not, since first entering politics 11 months ago, knocked out the largest and strongest field of GOP contenders in history, winning across all demographic segments with large margins, bringing in millions of new voters to the Republican party, and paying for his cost-effective campaign out of his own pocket.
I realize you didn’t write it but it demeans what we have just witnessed, an historic primary race.
He’s a busy little beaver trashing Trump from one thread to the next.
He’s the best qualified candidate to handle the economy. I think he’ll be pretty laissez faire on the social issues, but I don’t think that’s so much the president’s business anyway. He’ll make deals but none of them will be of the “you have to pass it before you get to know what’s in it” variety.
Dr. John is a jerk! lol
They have to throw away all the playbooks now.
Can he win? He is our nominee so we really have no choice now. Hilary will trot out his inconsistencies so let’s see how he handles them.
Happy Livius. No need to vote, no need to rant.
He is a jerk, but our country needs one so I'm okay with it. We need someone that isn't tied to the corrupted 2-party system and hates political correctness. I feel it's the only reasonable solution to halt us from becoming more what Europe has done to themselves.
Hillary thanks you for your lack of support for her only viable competitor. Makes her coronation that much easier.
Only we can control our actions or inactions
Bitter much? haha
I wouldn’t want to have lunch with Trump.
But I LOVE his positions on the issues.
Trump all the way!
If all he does is assign the border patrol to close the borders and deliver the illegals back to the Mexican side he will have done more for our country than 8 years of Bush.
It is now time for everyone to unite behind Donald Trump, regardless of who you supported during the primaries. Staying home and giving Hillary the White House out of spite because your guy didn’t win is short sighted and dangerous. It may give you a temporary feeling of satisfaction (”that’ll show em’!), but will that sense of satisfaction stay with you for the next 4 to 8 years? Do you support building a wall along the southern border? Hillary will never build it. Do you support strict enforcement of immigration laws? Hillary will never do it. Do you want to stop tens of thousands of Syrian “refugees” from streaming into the country? Hillary will welcome them with open arms. Do you want to see conservative judges appointed to the Supreme Court and other federal judgeships? Hillary will never appoint them. Do you want to see the butchers at Planned Parenthood prosecuted for selling body parts from aborted babies? Hillary will never prosecute them. Go down the list of all of the issues that are important to you, and ask yourself who is most likely to act on these issues in a manner that is consistent with your position on those issues. Maybe Donald Trump won’t give you EVERYTHING you want, but it’s for damn sure that Hillary won’t give you ANYTHING you want. If you stay home on election day, can you live with that?
Balanced against that is his support for building in the West Bank, tripling ICE officers, e-verify, cutting grants to sanctuary cities, and driving Obama crazy.
That is my take, and what makes him worth voting for. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Romney and step back from any of those good positions.
Only moron nobodies in a 2nd rate media hole in the ground could call a great American President-in-the-making a ‘jerk’.
Agree or not we need all to beat Hillary
Hillary thanks you profusely.
Trolling for a zot seems to be the newest craze on FR. :-)
