> “The GOP ought to pay damn good attention to that figure because if two thirds of registered Republicans stay home after the nomination is stolen not only will Hillary be President the party will be destroyed both in terms of vote-getting and fundraising. The GOP will quite-literally go from being a contender to a tiny minority party with no more chance of winning a Presidential contest in the future than the Libertarian party has since only electoral votes count in a Presidential contest and you will win exactly zero electoral votes with 25% of the electorate supporting you.”

The GOPe is fine with that result because they are hedged to the other side. The goal is to make America fold in with other nations as part of ‘managed trade’ as in a central committee making decisions on which, what, who are to be ‘developed’ and invested in. The GOPe comprising Romney and the Bush Clan all want a merging of nations into single blocs.

Karl is a smart guy but he’s not articulating what their goal is here. Stopping Hillary is not even on their list. Stopping Trump is what they’re about.

Step 1: Let’s all post lots of negative personal comments about Ted Cruz.

Step 2: Let’s all assure ourselves that Trump has it covered because “Paul Manafort”.

Step 3: Let’s continue not learning from these events.

Even though this is a learning opportunity that could help Trump to prepare for the general election against Hillary, let’s just say “Lyin’ Ted”, “Cruz stole more delegates”, and “Cruz cheated!” and move on without learning anything. Again. Even though Cruz is one of the most reliable conservatives on almost every issue, except that he won’t withdraw from the race, the important thing is to express anger against Cruz.

There is no value in learning before the next state, or before the one after that, or the one after that, or before the general election. Even though Trump needs the Cruz voters to win, the more rude we can be about him and about his voters, the better. Cruz is the enemy, not Hillary. Right?

Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina are a gift from God to America—perhaps our last chance to fully restore the gift of liberty He so graciously provided at our nation's founding.

My view is that Cruz is not relevant. He can't be hemlock for the GOP, any more than any of probably thousands of fringe republicans.

The press and the public of course are attracted to Cruz, he's a serious candidate having obtained a few hundred delegates and a few million votes. But no matter what his fate is from here on out, no matter how he is viewed, those factors have ZERO impact on the GOP as a whole. What will impact the GOP and RNC is how the other members act, not on how Cruz acts.

Ted Cruz will NEVER be the nominee. It will be Trump or somebody else, a parachute candidate. It will never be Cruz. He is now a tool, a useful idiot. A bipartisan zombie.

Despite all the talk about “the people” the actual turnout in the primaries is a kind of sample. Bernie Sanders despite his behind position is undoubtedly more popular personally than Hillary, and his supporters put their money where their mouths are.

Well, I’m sure the Ted and his supporters are convinced that his ground game is very clever and follows the rules. It also proves unequivocally what Trump has been saying about the corruption of the nominating process. One couldn’t find a better example of what makes people hate politicians than Cruz’s ground game, no matter that it “follows the rules”. So the GOPe can follow the will of the people or “follow the rules” into oblivion.

I’m sure that the GOPe thinks that people would get over the GOPe pushing out the clear leader for a party hack. That is what’s pretty much happened all along. This time though I think that they are being to clever for themselves.
