I haven’t suspended any beliefs, Ted is an imperfect human and has made errors. Unfortunately, Trump followers are living in their own parallel universe. Trump is a milquetoast conservative at best and this will become obvious after the election. I hope Trump beats Hillary like a baby seal, but imagining he is grounded in conservative principles is delusional.

The thing that most people don’t understand about most of us Trump supporters are:

We know he doesn’t walk on water, just like the rest of us don’t;

We know he has made some errors in life, just like the rest of us have;

We know he was Born on American Soil, raised by American Values, brought his family up with American values and built his company the American way, by hard work...

Trump is American, and we are American Trump Supporters...

I think “conservative” has been re- re-defined this election.

Consider that in 1920, conservatives did not want to get involved in foreign wars (Harding, Coolidge) and were deficit hawks, and were protectionists. Virtually every conservative up to that point shared those beliefs, going back to Washington.

So, you are really using a label that only came in with Goldwater, which was an international hawk coupled with free trade ideology and budget balancing. We think this is “conservatism” because it was what Reagan believed, but Reagan in many ways did not believe as George Washington and Calvin Coolidge did.

Different eras. Maybe time to return to the Washington definition? (Which, BTW, Trump fits perfectly).

The fight now, which is an existential one, a battle for the existence of the U.S.A., is GLOBALISM versus PATRIOTISM. If the Globalists are not defeated we lose our nation and everything becomes moot. Cruz is the Globalist candidate; Trump the Patriot or Nationalist candidate. Pray like crazy Trump wins and puts America FIRST. Otherwise, Globalism wins, and there goes our sovereignty and what’s left of our jobs and industry.

What's Not Conservative?
A message from our host, Jim Robinson:

4/20/2016, 4:31:14 PM
Jim Robinson to Nickname
This is not a liberal:

Build the wall.
Enforce the law.
Deport them all.
End sanctuary cities.
End anchor babies.
Slap a moratorium on muslim immigration.
Cut the taxes.
Cut the spending.
Cut the regulations.
Cut the government.
Cut the debt.
Cut the EPA.
Repeal ObamaCare.
Get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines.
Send education back to states.
Get a handle on trade.
Make trade deals in our own best interests.
Bring back capital.
Bring back manufacturing.
Bring back jobs.
Strengthen the economy.
Defend the second amendment.
Defend religious freedom.
Appoint constitutional conservative judges.
Rebuild our military.
Bomb the shit out of ISIS (and take their oil).
End political correctness.
Take the GOP head-on.
Take the media head-on.
Take the liberals head-on.
And win, baby, win.

All of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors he’s defeated (after they spent 100’s of millions of donor bucks).

No PACs.
No big donors.
No party support.
What’s democrat about any of the above?
What’s not conservative?
What’s not to like?

And I’ll add a few more:

Redo the horrid Iran deal.
Take a serious look at NATO.
Require our allies to pay more for their defense.

Rebuild the Reagan Coalition and attract blue collar workers by making America first again on manufacturing, trade, secure borders, economy and jobs, jobs, jobs!

Make America Great Again!

Why not read trumps two policy books and his current position papers before you make such an erroneous statement

I hope Trump beats Hillary like a baby seal, but imagining he is grounded in conservative principles is delusional.

I have said numerous times in the past, and still believe it to be true: Trump is a Truman Democrat.

Truman could not be a Democrat today, because that party has been overrun by Marxists and social progressives, leaning so far to the left that they look like palm trees during Hurricane Andrew. But the GOP has been an admixture of ideological conservatives and country clubbers for two generations now: together they barely get a plurality, and separated they always lose.

Trump is bringing the Truman Democrats, who cannot be Democrats anymore, into the Republican Party. The tough part for the country clubbers who would rather see Jeb! (or Kasich) lose to Hillary, and the ideological conservatives who (and I am among them) were desperate for a Cruzade to destroy the progressives, is the recognition that we both, the clubbers and the ideologues, will have to sit in the back of the car while Trump and the Trumaners drive it to victory against Hillary.

We conservatives will not get what we want with Trump, but we will avoid getting the worst, which would be the total destruction of our country under the aegis of Queen Jezebel. And maybe someday America will be ready for conservatism again.
