Levin has been railing against the establishment for years. He was very fair to Trump in the beginning, but when Trump started his attacks against Cruz’s wife and the “Lyin’ Ted’ crap, Trump started to lose my respect. Cruz had been the consummate classy candidate even after Palin endorsed Trump. Boehner’s comments yesterday showed another classless, cowardly, sleezy display of the what the republican party is. It reinforces that my decision to become a registered conservative two years ago was the right one. The establishment hates Cruz because he has been the lone voice to call out their inept and ineffective leadership the past seven years.

Look, I do not want Hillary as president. But I have some issues with Trump that many so-called conservatives have made excuses for such as his financial support of Hillary and the Clinton Foundation, his use of eminent domain for one of his projects, his four corporate bankruptcies that were the result of banks allowing him to over-leverage, etc.

The level of vitriol that is coming out in this campaign is shameful. Have people really become this uncivilized? The ad hominem attacks are really sickening. Whatever happened to actual debates? The republicans are spewing so much crap at each other instead of attacking that vile, lying, evil, socialist bitch.

I am so disgusted with the media coverage. It almost makes me not want to vote. I want to save my country. I think part of all this anger and hate and vitriol is a direct result of seven years of Obama. I fear that he has caused so much damage that we may never heal and strengthen as a nation.

I pray for my country. It is not the same country that I loved when I graduated from high school when Reagan was president.

Do you SERIOUSLY think that Cruz can beat Hillary or any other Democrat, considering that he has zero cross-over appeal to independents and Democrats, while Trump has huge crossover appeal?

...or do you think Cruz stopping Trump will lead to some other White Knight candidate showing up out of nowhere, and being able to beat Hillary? If so, who, and how will he do that with Trump’s supporters (me included) not voting for him, should the GOPe steal the nomination from Trump?

The level of vitriol in this campaign is the inspiration for my tagline. It's the healthiest thing I've seen in a long, long time.

“Cruz had been the consummate classy candidate “

That’s delusional. Cruz campaign staff was chock full of GOPe that are nasty dirt fighters. Trump did not start attacking Cruz until to things happened 1)the Cruz campaign and Ted himself started saying that Ben Carson had pulled out of the race vote for Cruz (that was a known lie at the time and effected the Iowa caucus) and 2)Liz Mair posted a nude picture of Melania.

The gloves came off at that point and Cruz and his supposed fighting crew lost it. Ted’s great effort to win was based on the idea that Trump would never do well in the south. Ted was wrong. He spent his time in Iowa and not in the states that could have gotten him more delegates. He took the South for granted. Trump did not

Cruz lied just yesterday saying there was no alliance with Katich. The man is pathological. He lies even when he doesn’t have t. He is that guy who always ran for class president because he had ‘great ideas’ and LAWAYS lost to someone who was better liked.

The establishment loves Cruz because he keeps them in power for a few more days. Trump has no strings not ties to them an is know for firing people. Cruz on the other hand is a career government employee.

...when Trump started his attacks against Cruz’s wife...

You mean when he didn't take the shot at Melania lying down?

I hate to break this to you, but from a historical context this election is tame as hell.

Yes, the tweet from Trump regarding Cruz’s wife was stupid, and there was no need to do it, and frankly I am sure if Trump had a do over he would not have done it.

However, calling your opponent a Liar? My goodness that’s nothing historically speaking when it comes to campaign acrimony. And even the tween about Cruz’s wife was mild as hell when put in historical context. Especially given the context, which was a response to an attack directed at Trump’s wife.

As to uncivilized, while I would agree as a society we are falling on that topic, when it comes to politics the level of discourse in this campaign is trite when put in historical perspective.

You really need to up your knowledge of our political history if you think this electoral season is uncivilized. For crying out loud we had one politician nearly beat another to death in the floor of the Senate!
