My friend Marvin was in a ground blind deer hunting in the Brazos river bottom. He took a shot at a hog with his 06. That just pissed that Boar off, who started charging him. Marvin emptied his rifle at him, but he kept on coming.
He pulled out his Gold Cup and thankfully that ole Boar caught one in the brain. Marvin called for help to get ‘em outta the woods an into his pickup. I got called to bring over a chain fall to get em outta the truck. I don’t know how much he weighed. But just the hide and gristle plate weighed 180 lbs.
What is a Gold Cup?
Please pardon my ignorance.
Ahhh! Reminds me of hunting javelina in south Texas with a Ruger .41 magnum. All white brush in that country and shots were close range. Favorite load was wad cutter lead mounted backward in casing. Stopping power was tremendous!
