Here in populated areas of California, many boar hunters can only use a bow.

One of the best bow hunters in the area was knocked on his butt by a charging boar and lost all but one arrow from his quiver. He got one shot off when the boar made a second charge to finish him off, and hit him in the chest. The boar died a few inches from where he was kneeling.

Yep. The worst are momma sows with young ones to protect. They are almost always quiet and close by when they decide to charge. And when they do, they mean it!
