I ran McD's for 23 years and I saw many people, some born Americans and some legal immigrants who took the time to learn skills and trades around work, of course the vast majority were those that were either unmarried without children or married where one parent or grandparent watched children while the one parent went to school. I also had many employees that never, while I knew them amounted to anything because they were either lazy or stupid.
The poor little soul referenced in the article strikes me as belonging to the lazy or stupid category. Many single parents have made the effort to learn a well paying skill by making sacrifices while others think that the rest of us owe them something for nothing.
