It’s time for Cruz and Kasich to call it a day and let Trump go after Clinton
The Coach's Team ^ | 4/27/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

If they truly believe beating Hillary Clinton is the real goal for Republicans, Ted Cruz and John Kasich have to suspend their campaigns and go home. The voters have spoken and rejected them.

For months many honest-and some not so honest-people backed the candidacy of Texas Senator Ted Cruz in the Republican primaries. They stood by Cruz as the façade of his “impeccable” conservative credentials crumbled when even mildly questioned. They were with him when he acted in a very un-conservative manner in Iowa. They defended him as he built his campaign war chest with shady arrangements with Citi Bank.

They “explained away” his trip to New York City to gather donations from wealthy homosexuals who support Gay “marriage” while courting Evangelical Christians and rejecting same sex unions. All the while Cruz kept losing and falling further behind Donald Trump.

Nevertheless, these things could have been overcome had he not gone “full lawyer” on us by accepting his faux victory in Colorado then doubling down on it by bragging about his prowess as a political player. He might also have survived and avoided the complete beat down he got last night at the hands of Donald Trump had he not made moves like bringing Neil Bush on board as his campaign finance chief. He didn’t and so it’s time to throw in the towel.

Now his only chance to reclaim some of the popularity he enjoyed last spring is to suspend his campaign and allow Trump, the winner of the primary process...

Might be too late for that. Personally I would have loved to see Cruz on the Supreme Court, but too much bad blood now. Perhaps had he dropped out months ago it would have been a possibility, but his ego got in the way IMHO.

he and Hillary would have been a real contest and then winner could have run against a real conservative!

In which case Trump would still win.

What a stupid statement. Trump doesn’t need Indiana, although he will win it anyway. He’s going to get at least 50 out of Pennsylvania as most of his slate of delegates won and he will win NJ and Cali. In 2008, McCain won Cali by 8 points and got all 172 delegates. What will Trump get with a 22 point lead. Nonsensical posts such as yours made out of anger do not serve any constructive purpose.

What in God's name would a Trump supporter know about "the conservative cause"? Trump is dragging the party to the left far harder than Lyndsey Graham or Jumpin Jim Jeffords ever could have dreamed!

Pro-abortion, pro-Kelo, pro touchback amnesty, pro universal healthcare - and I'm not saying anything anti Lord Trump of Orangehair - this is exactly the platform he'll be running on now that the nomination is in his grasp.

The fight is over. Trump won. Congratulations to all the trolls who really know what a big government player Trump is - rotten job well done. And to those of you who think this represents any sort of win for conservatism - I'll just be polite and note that you are mega-suckers who just got rooked by the single most obvious con-man I've seen in my lifetime.

Cruz would never make a good VP even though I thought so six months ago.

I hear you. For a while I actually advocated a Trump/Cruz ticket. Now I wish Cruz would just resign from the Republican party and go work for Glenn Beck, maybe as a lawyer or something like that.

Trump’s voters will not support that. Cruz’s level of ambition and being at Trump’s back, dangerous.

I agree. I supported Cruz from the start but Trump is and will be the nominee. I will give him the benefit of the doubt this time around. That being said had Little Jebbie or Kasich been the nominee I already knew the answer to the will he betray conservatives question, in spades.

Hillary or Trump? I’ll take Trump over the nagging commie shrew from hell.

Pains me too, but at this point, Cruz couldn’t even finish second in most of these races. The population, which still mind boggles me, seem to want Trump.

Yup. The liberal wing of the Republican party has once again defeated the conservative wing at the ballot box. Well, Trump has Cruz on the ropes. No doubt about that. But evidently there is no quit in Cruz and Trump will have to knock him out. So be it. If Trump gets 50% in Indiana that will be a knockout. He will win anyway but if I was Trump I would open up the checkbook in Indiana.

BTW, it doesn’t concern me that Cruz sucked so bad in liberal States. It did bother me that he sucked in Pa.

How did you feel about

Virginia 17%
Ohio 13%
Florida 17%

Even a black belt in Cubanadian ju-jitsu is gonna have a hard time flipping those to red I think.

Try this on. Without Cruz and Kasich votes Trump gets slaughtered in Pa in the general. Perhaps you should learn to be a good winner?

“The population, which still mind boggles me, seem to want Trump.”

Have you really and seriously listened to Trump? Watched his rallies, town halls and pressers?? Have you watched what his family has to say??

Yes, he says NOTHING of substance. No specific platform at all. He is great a one liners and bloviating. But what does he stand for? I know he believes that transgendered should use any washroom they feel like.
