My issue is not whether Trump can win or not, but what will happen when he does win?
He doesn’t sound like a small government guy to be, it sounds like he has no problem expanding govt.
So who cares if he wins, if he’s going to govern like a big government Liberal Democrat?
Trump consistently talks about cutting government back. I don’t understand why people keep saying he will expand government.
I haven't seen a small government guy do anything other than expand government. However, given how lean Trump has run his campaign and his businesses I would expect him to fire 1/4th of Federal employees who don't actually do anything. De-funding programs from congress has been a non winning in politics, but the people will very happy with a CEO who just fires all the money wasting employees instead.
He will(hopefully)secure the border which is an imperative. He may not be that conservative now, but, after he is smeared to death by the lib media and everything else he will certainly not be a lib. What else he will do is any ones guess. He can't help but be better than what we have now or for that matter one of these country club elites that have Been running the GOP for as long as I have lived.
As opposed to ... who?
Hillary will expand government far more.
Pretty sure you can include every candidate in the same sentence and be absolutely correct. For me, just the turnover in FedGov that would happen (over 20% of federal workers have already decided to leave if Trump wins) is a victory in itself.
That turn over would not occur if Hillary won the election against a rejected candidate.
Truthfully, no major change will happen with FedGov until we take more seats in the House and Senate with actual conservatives who believe in smaller government, and none of those candidates will get the slightest support from the embedded GOPe which wants everything to remain exactly the same so that they can continue to collect our cash, have their families gainfully employed in FedGov and the lobbyist firms, and their positions unchallenged from conservative quarters.
So do I have much concern how Trump would govern? Not especially; I fully expect the uniparty to continue to barrel down the idiotic road they are on until they bankrupt the country. I'm looking towards 2020 and 2024 for real change to come, with every election between now and then loaded to prime that change.
Government spending is going to drop like a rock. I don’t know where folks come up 20th this stuff.
In 2009, when so many of us were protesting the growth of govt, Trump was praising Obama.
Please read his position papers and his two policy books
There are a lot of other things he might do that we might not like, but if he does half of these, we'll all be ecstatic.
