Conan Doyle referred to them as Esquimoes.
Parody...right?
Well then the eskimos are going to be pissed they cannot call themselves by that term.
Still does not make me want any slinky flipper.
Another word that is on my “frequent use list” now.
The Leftists have made me decide to embrace bigotry. I prefer truth and bigotry is often truth more than not. Forget PC and lets start calling them what they are. They caused this.

I notice no preferred name is offered - just a restriction on use of a long-standing name.
Political correctness? I’m not too Inuit.
Get it? Get it? HA! HA! HA!
No not a parody. I’ve heard this elsewhere, that Eskimo is at the least, an outdated archaic term, and at the worst, racist and bigoted.
I’ve also heard we aren’t supposed to talk about American Indians anymore. We are supposed to say “native American” or refer to the specific tribe involved, such as Navajo or Cherokee, rather than calling members of the tribes “Indians”.
It’s hard to keep up with all the politically correct terminology.
The term “homosexual” is supposedly verboten now too. You are supposed to say “gay” or “lesbian” but not “homosexual”.
So now we can expect people to get tripped up in referring to Eskimo people.
And look for campaigns against the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Look for pressures to change that name.
Oh dear, and it used to be so inclusive,
even of the Gays.
“Well then the eskimos are going to be pissed they cannot call themselves by that term.”
The “E” word is the new “N” word. OK for THEM to use it.
Is “eski-shmoes” OK? The bottom line is that if you are Caucasian you should kill you self. LIBs are mentally ill.
Are connoisseurs of sushi and steak tartare violent barbarians?
Aw man, now I can’t play Manfred Mann’s The Mighty Quinn

“Eskimo” - the people who eat blubber.
Actually they call themselves “Iniut” for the most part, but the term “Eskimo” includes all of the various people of the Yupik, Inupiat and Inuit groups. These make up a distinct ethnic group from either the Arctic Indians or the Aleuts.
All fall under the broader banner of “Native American” or “Native Canadian”.
Definitely not of European origin.
So now do I have to say I can sell ice cubes to Inuits, i mean, Inuk? That just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
LOL!
