Nobody has abandoned social issues. Its called common sense. The office of the president is not the place to fix the social issues unless you want another Obama using EO’s to bypass the Constitution.
The way to fix the cultures cancer is with changing the courts, education, protecting religious freedom and breaking up the special interest control of government - Trump is a likely step forward in all those areas.
Especially education, because the under-25 crowd almost universally thinks this is the civil rights issue of the decade and North Carolina is run by the most hideous bigots imaginable.
