About six years ago, my daughter was being interviewed for nanny jobs. One of them was a millionaire couple from Chicago who lived in those ritzy places on the lake shore. They sent an limo to the house to pick her up, paid for her flight to Chicago and back, and another limo to get her home. I'm guessing well over $1000 and all to interview a nanny.

She ended up taking a job with a professional couple in New Jersey, but she sure had some tales to tell about the monied classes in Chicago, suburban New York and the Bay Area, where she interviewed for other jobs. She earned enough in a year and a half to pay for most of her last two years of college.
