Media coverage of Pope Francis Amoris Laetitia typically noted that it reaffirmed the Catholic Churchs opposition to gay marriage. Slates William Saletan acknowledges the literal truth of that reporting, but suggested in an April 8 article that the document contains seeds that will sprout into Vatican acceptance of same-sex unions, though he admits that process might take centuries.
Saletan argued that in time, the Church will extend Amoris Laetitias treatment of infertile heterosexual couples to same-sex couples: This double standard, between homosexuality and other forms of infertility, is the cracked pillar at the foundation of the churchs policy against same-sex unions. What they don’t realize is that in the event that should take place, it won’t be the catholic Church any more, even it they say they are. It would only be a shell, an “in-name-only” like their increasingly corrupt universites. The true believers would leave. They cannot destroy the real Church Universal; they can only persecute it.
His kingdom is not of this world.
Centuries? What planet is he living on? I give it three weeks at the pace we are moving.
I dont see the Catholic Church accepting Solo Scriptura, and Grace Alone.
and your point is what, exactly...?
